I stick to the default Macros. I do need to watch my insulin response from carbs, since It is the fat storing hormone. You don't need to go ultra low carbs to loose weight. Just cutting out added sugar and refined flour will get you the same results as ultra low carbs. My doctor always tells me about the 3 white deaths…

That is awesome, and very encouraging!

I see the doctor in 3 months.

I was just doing that for a few days. Some kind of cleanse I read about. I used this site about 3 years ago and got down to 170 lbs. and let myself go.

Mentaly I have to know how far I have gone. I have all of my routs planned out. Once again there are many factors that go into performance.

I have been averaging 20 miles a week for some time. Just last night I attempted a run that I have complete serveral times. I was unable to finish. It is ok to stop and walk for little bit, but I always finish the distance running. For example: last night I made it 7 out of 8 miles and had no energy left. I then walked a…

If you go to a good running store, they should have a way to analyze your stride and put you in the correct shoe. Not all models are constructed the same. You should get the correct one fitted for you. I know that you may pay a little more than you like (about $80 -$120) for a good pair, but it can potentially save you a…

Cliff Bar or Snickers Bar. I get my best results from a balanced diet throughout the day and make sure that I get proper recovery time. I have never had to supplement my energy.

I love carbs too. You can have the foods you love as long as they are balanced. I eat pasta, potatoes, and bread and still lose weight. It helps me to feel satisfied with what I am eating, and feels less like dieting. If you follow the simple formula of 40% calories for carbs, 40% from protein and 30% from fat, you can eat…

You have two options. you can use a style sheet and format your table to not include a border arround you boxes. The div tags take a little getting used to, but I like them much better. I learned how to use them by looking at the source code for some web pages and try to figure out how they did it. There is also a lot of…

That is great advice!

I think the active choices are for those who do a lot of moving around durring their day that would be difficult to log. It is one thing to walk a set distance or time. It is another to be up and down back and forth, start, stop, ect. This is just the way I look at it. I too sit at a desk for 8 hrs with a one hour break,…

Arby's roast beef always settles my stomach. BTW, when you go the movie theater and eat their popcorn it can have as much as 1000 calories. If you air pop your popcorn and spray is with some olive oil and a little salt, you can cut it down to only 110 calories. This is what I do and it is very good once you gett used to…

I love Chinese too

That is awsome!!! Burgers and tacos are my bigest vices.

I am having the same problem as well.

You are probably not as bad off as you think. My best results from exercise came the day after eating too many colories. For example the day after a cookout. Go for a long workout, if it helps you clear you head and get rid of the guilt. Sometimes you need theses days to help keep you motivated.

When I started out I did a ratio of 1 to 3. 1 minute high intensity and 3 min recovery. I repeated this 5 times for the first week and did about 3 to 4 workouts a week. I then added an interval a week for eight weeks. Then changed the ratio to 2 to 3. You will have to play with the speeds. At the end of your high interval…

Stay away from the fried foods. There are many Chinese dishes with lots of vegetables. Chose white rice over the fried rice, and go easy on it. The biggest issue with Chinese food is sodium. My preference is Chicken/beef with garlic sauce!!! It will not hurt you to have a 'cheat day'. Actually they are good for you once a…

Hello from Indy!! I started using this site a month ago and it has helped me to stay on track to meet my goals. The people on here are very supportive as well.

Thank you for posting this. I am going through the same thing. My wife and her family make terrible choices when it comes to food. None of them are overweight, but her father passed away recently at age 54. I want to be around for my grand children and enjoy life. That is why I make the choices I do. It is nice to read the…

The key is to find an activity you like doing. I am a runner. I started out this year doing interval training. I would jog (6mph) for one minute and then walk (4mph) for three and then repeat it five times. I would do this no less than 3 times a week and no more than five. Each week I would add an interval. The intervals…

That is very true!

I had the same trouble when I started out. I like to keep the base walking speed the same (no less then 4mph). Then find a running speed that allows me to finish the workout. The important thing is complete the workout. With that said, it is mostly mental. I am now completing workouts that I never dreamed I could, when I…
