I quit when the introduced the new plan as well - couldn't get over the fact that fruits and veggies were zero points....and found I wasn't as sucessful with the new plan. I have to say I love MFP - especially since its free!

Tell your inner voice that you want some variety and not just food-based rewards. Tell them you want to splurge on a nice summer pedicure or a new piece of jewelery.

This is a tough one as its tough to have will power on an empty stomach so I have brought a healthy lunch and eaten it at my desk prior to a potluck. When I arrive I am full already and less tempted and then I just snack on some raw veggies.

They are basing it on caloric intake. Its really just math, calories in versus calories burned. A pound is about 3500 calories so based on your daily target they can figure out that you will be reducing your calories enough to hit a certain number within 5 weeks.
