  • What are you eating? If you are eating more to replace those burned calories that might be the reason you're not seeing much movement on your scales. You are also probably replacing fat with muscle.. Muscle weighs more. Do your clothes feel looser? Don't worry about the pounds right now, just make sure you are eating right…
  • This is what's worked for me as well. The only real substitue I've made is baking breaded chicken instead of frying it. Otherwise I eat the same foods I've always eaten, just less of them!
  • Yep, tha't's me too! Can't wait to see what they miss
  • Hi Janice, I too live in NC. What part of the state are you from? I'm in Durham/Chapel Hill. Laura
  • I think it depends on what you are doing on or with the excercize ball, like ab crunches, lunges, squats, lifts etc.....
  • I still fall off the difference this time is I get right back on. So I may blow a meal, a day or occasionally a whole week ( vacaaaation) but I keep entering my meals in here no matter WHAT I eat and before long I'm back on track. Keeping a food diary has been the one thing that I believe has kept me on point. Right now, I…
  • I've been on MFP since March and I've lost fairly quite a bit of weight a little at time. I don' t diet, it just doesn't work for me. I do monitor my portions but with a couple of exceptions ( still missing fried chicken) I eat the same foods I've eaten all my life. It wasn't WHAT I are that caused the problem most of the…
  • Yes Anna, on this site at least I think you are!!! lol!!!

  • I like laughing cow cheese as well and sometimes throw in Murrays' sugar free chocolate chip cookies to satisfy my craving for something sweet: 3 gms of hidden sugars so not too bad. You're keeping carbs below 20 a meal I gather. I feel for you, I know how hard that can be but stick with it..
  • You are very welcome..I do have fantastic friends and they all cooked wonderful things that we could all enjoy and that I could eat and savor without worrying whether I'd "break the bank" calorie wise. It helps that one of those friends has been on her own weight loss journey for a little over 2 years now and in that time…
  • This is the same thing I've been doing. I've done the diets with the packaged foods and they all worked.. for a while. Then I would start to crave something bad for me and off I'd go. I thought about my childhood when I stayed slim and the things I did then. I ate til I was full, as the youngest, food was never wasted! My…
  • Oh girl! Been there, done that, own the t-shirt! Now you know where you went wrong so next time you'll stop yourself. It's that self destruct thing we all seem to have that keeps you from attaining that goal and staying there. This time I got smarter.. I still eat the things I love including the occasional fast food burger…
  • your body will adjust to the 1200 cal diet and only burn 1200. I've been successful by bouncing all over the place. 1200 one day, 1400 the next, 1900 another then back to 1200 for a day or two. I have been doing this since the beginning of March and I've lost over 30 lbs. I am losing it slowly,. some weeks I only lose a…
  • I'd take it too! Maybe the 192 was wrong?

  • No effort to get fit is worthless, I applaud you for you efforts but I believe you should speak with your family physician about this. He or she may or may not refer you to a cadiologist, if they do then please make sure you go. A lot of people have gone from no activity to too much activity without a gradual buildup phase…
  • check out this website, it shows you what you burn doing the activies you mentioned http://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/calories-burned-by.php?search=standing
  • There's culture in Nebraska? Who knew?? just kidding... Welcome to the wide world of weight loss. I think you'll find this site and the people on it motivating. Good luck!!!
  • Welcome Aussie! I fully understand your desire to hit 40 in better shape than 39! lol!! In my case, I wanna be a slimmer 52 year old but I may have to wait till I'm 53 to fully attain my goal. Can't wait to see how well you do on MFP, it's been a life saver for me.
  • I bought the bike years ago but it's kinda limited. It was also the most boring thing I ever used to work out and I soon chucked it for a real bike. You might try yard sales or Craig's list to get you a bike you like. I found a great schwinn tourer for 50 bucks at a yard sale one time.
  • I'm going for 100 lbs, i''ve lost 20 so far in a little over 2 months. I hope I can continue. The longer I go on the harder it is to lose though I've not had as much trouble sticking with the diet..I can have 1750 calories a day and I miss my mark occasionally but not as much as I thought I might when I started. I've been…
  • well, I sucked this week! No lbs lost, and none gained. sigh......
  • I'm in CW 231 GW 229
  • bump:bigsmile:
  • Kristina: How cool! I work at UNC/live in Durham. You should give a shout out when you get here, we'll meet and go out to Twisted Noodle and get some of that fine Thai Food we all grumble about. Unless of course you're just doing a hit-n-run at the 'rents. Kendal: where are you? Maybe we can all three meet up.
  • Weighed in at work Thursday at 232... Victoria - Im just getting over a beastly summer cold too and you have my sympathies. I walked a mile at work Thursday and felt like someone had beaten me with a bat.. But I'd felt like that all week anyway so might as well walk through it. Amber, that recipe for eggplant sound yummy,…
  • Hi Jim, Welcome to the site. I've been using it for about 8 weeks now and I've found it to be a useful tool for maintaining or losing weight. I like the food database and the excercise sections. They're fairly vast as long as you spell everything correctly. Good luck in your efforts! Laura
  • Great chart Pinbotchick, I see my start weight is missing, That was 251. I weighed in today at 232.. woo hoo!! Last week I was at 235.4. That should fill in the missing pieces on me. It's been a weird week, I've been sick on and off (mostly on) starting last Thursday so I haven't been paying close attention to the website.…
  • That's the reason my hubby shops, Lacey. Well that and he's the cook, lol!!! I know he buys snacks for himself but he hides them where i can't find them and to be honest, I dont want them anymore.
