  • I am also starting a journey to lose 100lbs. It's time. You can do it, but it's hard work. Here are some of things that are helping me so far: - Tracking your meals as you eat them: seriously, I almost over eat if I leave it for the end of the day. If I'm planning a special dinner, I put it in at the beginning of the day…
  • Surprisingly, it's possible to be somewhat addicted to sugars and fats. I feel a physical craving that's extremely difficult to ignore. I try to substitute a slightly healthier option that I have less danger of eating too much of. For example, organic chocolate tends to be more bitter than a hershey's milk chocolate bar…
  • Be proud! It's the first step of your journey!
  • I would definitely suggest a wall push-up or a push-up with your feet on the ground and your hands on the second or third stair (or on the back of your sofa) to make it easier. The more parallel to the floor you are, the harder the push-up is. It's important to do the exercise right with the correct form, rather than doing…

  • I take chicken thighs and marinate them in a balsamic vinaigrette over night and then coat them in garlic and herb breadcrumbs and bake them. Most delicious chicken I've ever had!

  • Warming up properly before a workout and stretching after a workout are very important. They can help alleviate some of the soreness. Foam rolling is also helpful, if you know what that is. Other than that, you'll just have to take some time or do other exercises. Eventually your body will adjust to strength training and…
  • That's great!! I find it so difficult to do more than 15 or 20. :-)
  • Bump! This is great, thanks for sharing!
  • Hello Everyone! It's July 1st and I've just recently completed my second week of weight loss and am losing some of the ambition I once had so I'm going to join this challenge with you! My daily journal is open to my friends so if you're looking for someone to witness your efforts, let me know and we can look out for one…
  • My best advice would be to set specific goals. I have tried to lose weight and get in shape before but it's never worked. "Someday" is far too easy to give up on. A series of small, specific goals help you to not get so bummed out.
  • For every emotion in the book, I feel like eating. I eat to relieve stress, I eat to reinforce happiness, I eat for something to do. You name and I feel like eating because of it. My biggest weakness is my salt cravings. I crave salty, crunchy things like potato chips. My first step is to replace my ultimate weakness with…
