Some days you will be over some days under, as long as your average for the week is within range then I don't see how that would be a problem or hinder your weight loss.

- Reach my goal weight - Complete C25K for the first and then do it again to beat my time - Continue weight training, get lean and toned whilst building some muscle

Great thread. I have always attempted to lose 2lb per week until now but will adjust this to 1.5lb as even though I have lost weight consistently I can feel my strength diminishing whilst lifting weights in the gym so I must have lost quite a bit of muscle as well which I am not happy about. Therefore I shall raise my…

Yeah it does seem to make sense doing it that way otherwise like you said I might have accounted for my exercise calories twice. Cheers. Anyone else got anything to add to this?

Cheers, I have already been weight training also but I'm thinking of changing my routine for that. Recently I have been working each muscle group once per week but don't feel like I am getting any results from that. Obviously whilst eating at a big calorie deficit I'm not going to gain any muscle notice any big changes but…

Thanks for your reply psulemon. My goal is currently 75kg. I'm 5'9 and currently weigh 86kg. I figured that when I get to around the 80kg mark I would adjust my weight loss goal down to 1lb per week to lose the last bit of weight a little more steadily. Does that sound like a good plan?

I'm just trying to determine if its possible I can eat a bit more but still lose my 2lb per week. On some days I do find it quite difficult to stay within my calorie allowance and as MFP keeps reducing the calorie goal each time you lose 5kg its only going to get harder still! Having calculated my maintenance level I'm…
-
Ha! yeah I meant 1k below maintenance to lose 2lb per week, not actually 1k calories. I shall be posting a thread regarding the calorie thing shortly as I'm not too sure MFP has set the right calorie goal for me. Thanks

I'm currently eating at 1000 calorie deficit in order to lose 2lb per week and have been doing so since May. I do 4 days strength training per week but for the past few months have noticed next to no no muscular gains. I have been coming down in body fat/scale weight but my strength doesn't seem to have increased one bit…

Hi Kate, I'm sure you'll acheive your goals through MFP, I have found it to be a great tool and as you say its not a diet its a lifestyle change. Just stick through it, you might have weeks where you don't lose but we all have these, the trick is to forget about it, move on and be even more determined to lose the weight…

Welcome to MFP! feel free to add

I'd recommend getting a heart rate monitor. Only bought mine last week but the calorie readings I am getting on the HRM are very different to what MFP says I have burned!

I happen to be doing an overnight shift right now! I always seem to log midnight to midnight

Well done, I'm happy for you!

I wouldn't say I'm lifting very heavy weights, I just lift the the most I can manage for each exercise and tend do 3 sets/10 reps. I always aim to get my cardio in, in order to burn off calories. I don't know how many calories I'm burning when lifting but I can be fairly accurate when doing cardio and knowing this has an…

So is my routine geared more towards someone that is trying to get bigger/build lean mass as opposed to losing weight?
-
Sorry, forgot to mention that I do work on core/abs also about 3 times a week.

Hello, Im from Derby!

The calories burned reading on the treadmill/eliptical at my gym is always less then what mfp says so I go by the reading on the gym equipment.

I hafe the exact same problem, After having lost around 3 and a half stones, most of it seems to have gone off my arms and legs rather than my belly where I still have a LOT of fat. It makes me think I will have to lower my goal as I can't see this belly disappearing in another 2 stones!
-
I usually warm up by doing some stretches and then 5 or 10 mins on the stationary bike.

You look great!

Ive just ordered a blender bottle and some samples from myprotein.co.uk. I'm hoping to cut down a bit on the fruit and have a shake after workout instead as a way of increasing protein and cutting down on carbs/sugar. Is this likely to slow down my weight loss? I'm assuming as long as I factor it in to my calorie allowance…

I've had the same problem, I never used to get indigestion before but in the last couple of months I have had it a few times. I do think I have plenty of fruit n veg and I don't think it seems to be after eating a particular type of food so I'm not sure why I'm getting it? Maybe I should alter my portion sizes and have…

Congrats on your stone lost. With myself it didn't really show until I lost closer to 2 stones even though people would tell me I look like I've lost weight I couldn't really see it when I looked in the mirror.

Well, that's what counting calories is all about. It isn't always easy. I would recommend, that if you know you're not exact in your calorie counting in your food diary, only eat back 0-1/2 of your exercise calories. That is, if you want to lose at the "expected" rate. [/quote] Yeah I do have days where I don't eat…
