  • I'm 42 and going strong!! Feel free to add me if you like. :)
  • I'm in too, as long as I don't have to post naked pictures at the end of it.....LOL When do we start? Fill me in!!
  • You look fantastic! Good for you! Your hard work paid off. :)
  • Hello from Cambridge Ontario!!
  • I'll be running one on October 14th. The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in Toronto. This will be my second time running it.
  • Maintenance on P90X for me would be 2400 calories a day. My coach put me on a deficit so I would lose body fat. I was told to eat 1800 calories a day, regardless of what workout I did that day. On my one rest day I dropped it to 1700 though. I am also a runner and run 3-4 times a week, around 6-10K, and a long run on…

  • I really only drank one cup in the morning so I didn't feel I missed it. It was more the habit of drinking it on the way to work, which I soon replaced with a protein shake. My issue wasn't breaking the caffeine, it was more sugar and bad carbs. I think the whole issue is to find that high naturally without screwing up…

  • I started running when I turned 40, 2 years ago. I never was a runner before. Did some sprinting in grade school if you count that. I thought since I was 40 it was time to do something just for me. I had gone through a divorce and needed to find myself again and do something just for me, for once, instead of always being…
  • I just finished my second round of P90X. I love the program! The first time I did it, I didn't follow the proper nutrition. I did get stronger and gained some muscle, but you couldn't see it because I didn't shed body fat. The second round, I followed the plan exactly, had a Beachbody coach that I reported to weekly for…

  • ^^^ This!! That's how I was raised and now I love everything. My kids eat what is served to them. If they don't like it, they don't get anything else till next meal time. Once a week we have a family night. They get their choice of dinner, alternating weeks between children, and can choose the menu for dinner and the…
  • My fav way to eat cottage cheese is with real Canadian maple syrup mixed in. I have a sweet tooth and that satisfies with a natural sugar. I have also mixed apple butter into it. Not sure if you can get that in the US, but it's a big thing here. All natural ingredients, and just as yummy paired with natural peanut butter…
  • This is great! Thanks for the laugh!
  • I love Molson Canadian 67 Sublime in the summer time. Only 67 calories and it tastes great! If you don't like the idea of lime, just go for the Canadian 67 then.

  • ^^This! If you run, you are a runner. If you are running distances of 10 miles, you are definitely a runner!! No jogger is running those distances. A jogger to me is someone who will go around the block a couple times just to get out of the house on a nice day. A runner is someone who commits themselves to it, several days…
  • I could use some too! I'll check in later to see what shows up! :)
  • I use dates on my long runs for fuel. They are cheap and healthy. I buy them at our local bulk store. I have also bought fruit and nut bars, like Lara or Good n' Natural, and cut them up into pieces. That works too. I only use gels to race. I can't afford to buy gels for every long run, every weekend, and I run a minimum…
  • I use Kaizen 100%Whey Isolate, Decadent Chocolate. It comes in vanilla too. I mix it with almond milk and peanut butter, or frozen fruit. It's awesome! I get it at Costco here in Canada. 4.4lbs for $45. Per serving: 150 calories, 0.5g fat, 1g carb, 35g protein.
  • Third Day is my fav by far but I also love Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, Phillips, Craig and Dean, Sanctus Real, MercyMe, David Crowder, Newsboys, and Newworldson (an awesome new band from Niagara, Canada, if you like a jazzy sound).
  • I just turned 42 in March. I took up running at 40 and ran my first marathon last fall. I'm still running races, I'm in my last Phase of my second round of P90X now, and then will be training for my next marathon in October. I'm loving my 40's more than my 30's and 20's. There is something to be said for what age, maturity…
  • I'm on my Phase 3 of my second round of P90X and my Beachbody coach told me to maintain 1800 calories a day, including workout calories, for the whole thing at a ratio of 40 carbs, 40 protein, and 20 fat. Any more calories and I wouldn't see the results I'm looking for. I also run in addition to the program, so he said on…
  • Also, here is something my Beachbody coach mentioned resently.....a product that might help. The best supplement combination for joint/knee/ankle pain is glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, MSM and chondroitin, especially if you have a damaged joint. MSM/glucosamine and condroitin will help repair the joint. Taking glucosamine…
  • An awesome report! Great job on your 50K. Now I'm thinking of mine again. I keep putting it on and off the burner. Well, it was the 50 mile but I think a 50K should be first..... We'll see. I wear calf sleeves and they help me a lot! A thorn bush torn a hole in one of them on my trail run with Clay this past Saturday, so I…
  • That was great!! Thanks for sharing! I'm at the point where I recite all those lines with each workout. It's stuck in my head. Gotta love it!!
  • Bumping this for later. I'll definitely check it out. :)

  • ^^^^LOL!! I'm with her. Now I know I need to find a man that works out..... I love that you guys used sports metaphors for the whole thing. Just too awesome!!
  • So many people don't understand this and it's so important for success. Thank you for posting!!!
  • I have the magnets on my truck rather than a sticker. Then you can move it around or switch it up with others when you want. I got it from this website. Lots of cool ones to choose from. http://www.onemoremilerunning.com/
