  • I created my own way to log it - looked up the calories burned for the walking and running for each week, added them together and saved it as a new exercise - C25K week , or whatever week. Eventually you get to the weeks were it is just running and that is much easier to log.
  • I've never been a runner.... In fact, I don't think I had EVER successfully run a single mile until I did C25K. I started it once, got about halfway through and hit a mental block. I gave up for a while, lost 20 lbs doing other things and then started again... this time with friends. We made it all the way through the…
  • Simply Amazing!!! You are so beautiful!!! What an inspiration. I need this right now, as I have been stuck for months and I feel like nothing is working. Something will eventually work... thanks for reminding me of how worth it it will be!
  • I have 4 kids, but I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom... it's still hard to find time to work out with them around... however, if you have a husband that is home at night, I would suggest getting out and exercising at night, if that is possible. I've found if I work out at home when the kids are asleep, they tend…
  • I agree with everyone, and I'm excited for you to start it! I started it last spring, got to about week 4, got stuck and stopped. I started again 5 weeks ago, and I am still going strong. The difference for me is that #1, I've lost 20 lbs since then and I have been working out consistently (which you have already been…
  • I must be getting my C25k info from a different source, because with what I have looked into, that is week 2. Week one is 60 seconds of jogging 90 seconds of walking...
  • Way to go!!! I am not a runner, but if you haven't tried it yet, try out the Couch 2 5k program. It will get you started.
  • I had the opportunity to work with a personal trainer for awhile through a work biggest loser thing. She told us to eat (something small and healthy) before working out and about 45 minutes after. It is helps your body recover and build lean muscle.
  • I think that coming from a 4 year old it is okay... my poor, beautiful friend had a 30 something year old ask her that the other day... now that made me mad!
  • 1200 is net calories.. if you are exercising, you get to eat more =o) Make sure, also, that you have your activity level set right. If you are really starving, eat. Listen to your body, but make sure that you aren't just eating because you miss food. Also, be sure that you are getting enough water every day. Sometimes lack…
  • Hi Keepinup - I am a mom of 4 and I have several friends on here that are in the same boat as both of us. I will add you and ask them to as well... MFP has been really helpful for me in this area. Accountability is ALWAYS my problem with losing weight, and knowing that my real life friends that are on here, along with some…
  • That I tend to eat more for my evening snacks than I do for my other real meals throughout the day.... could be a good reason that my metabolism is so out of whack!
  • be careful how many calories you are claiming and re-eating from exercise. MFP assigns way too many calories to exercise.. I Just found this out, too.
  • I had this same question a couple of days ago...or similar, anyway... And got some advice from a friend who is having lots of success. She basically told me #1 be careful about how many calories you are claiming from exercise - while MFP is great for keeping track of food calories, the calorie values that they place on…
  • Wow!! Great job!! Don't know you, but you are an inspiration...especially since those are almost the exact numbers that I am coming from/aiming for =o) Way to go!
