  • Great gluten free recipe! Thanks! I am going to try these today!
  • Meals like tacos and stir fry where you can add things separately. Or dinner salads where you can add tofu or beans instead of grilled chicpken or steak for your family. Good luck! Make sure you are taking a multi vitamin too.
  • I'm 5'8''and 25 years old, currently at 153 also and wanting to get to the mid-140's. Glad you joined MFP!! Its good to find others with similar goals for support. Welcome! :-)
  • Oh i did the bear walk extra last week! That is by far my least favorite, it just makes my wrists hurt, & i even watched the video again to make sure i was doing it right. I'm going to try to do the extra calorie burn tomorrow for the bonus since i am off work. And if it ever stops raining in pa i will do andp extra walk,…
  • New batteries didn't occur to me bc it still works but i could be that. Its kind of old too, we've had it for like 4 years. Thanks!
  • Okay I am caught up for day 1 & 2!! I didnt think the water would be hard for me but I guess I am usually only a litle over half way on my water intake for a goal so i'll work on that! Now to do the bear walk with my kitten giving me more funny looks :-)
  • Hi! I'm Katie, 25 years old. It's nice to find people with similar goals about your age too. :)
  • Janet has a good idea too about switching to a brand you dont like as much at the house so the whole thing is not as tempting or enjoyable. Maybe nonalcoholic beer to supplement weaning off, but then it really is just lots of empty calories. But if you can quit that would be ideal, especially if you were to the point of…
  • Canned tuna is a great protein at low cost, on salads or toast. Try farmers markets too this time of year, local and in season fresh produce is going to be cheaper (and taste better!) than out of season items in the supermarket.
  • That sucks when guilt ruins a treat that you didnt expect to be so bad, especially when it wasnt as good as you hoped. Just try to let it go tho, fast food is soooo hard to order anything. At least you didnt get a bigmac with it ;)
  • One kitten named Meowfred, or Freddie :-) he's my snuggler!
  • Do you like tuna? That has great protein and is a great price for the nutrition benefit. Peanut butter is really good too, altho a little more fat. Any veggies are good fillers, especially carrots and cabbage that you can add to soups and other recipies. It can be hard to pick nutrient dense foods at first but gets easier…
  • sounds amazing!! great share!!
  • trader joes is great!! they are able to give great prices on things because they limit their variety on certain items, like instead of having 3 brands of canned corn, they offer 1 and its typically a great product. lots of interesting foods there!! enjoy!! Edit: I got so excited about trader joes that I googled locations…
  • enjoy a little bite of everything - portion control! grilled veggies are a great idea and shrimp. watch how big some rolls/buns can be too, maybe use just a half for the flavor? try roasted red potatoes with seasoning as opposed to potatoe salad too. good luck!!
  • I'm on 25mg and haven't noticed a decrease in my appetite (it's always been good, despite anything!) but I have noticed putting on some weight since I started it 8 months ago, but its hard to say it was related entirely to the celexa. I'm hoping it maybe just takes a while to even everything out and then my motivation will…
  • i'm the same height as you, 5'8'' and i have my goal weight at 145lbs but part of it is probably how your body is proportioned too. I'm a pear shape, small shirt size and size 29-30 jeans so find what suits your body type. I'd probably up my goal weight a tad if I had more boobs, but at 25 years old i think i've missed my…
  • awesome suggestions from everyone!! thank you all for the replies!!! i now have lots of new ideas to mix up my menu :)
  • try mixing them into recipies in a way you can't pick them out but don't overly notice their texture, like adding some spinach to a standard lasagna in the layers, or extra fresh mushrooms to a creamy pasta dish. i find my husband gets more veggies when i mix them into the main dish, as opposed to serving them as a side. a…
  • good posture!! sit up straight and tighten or "zip up" your abdominal muscles while you work. also, get up and walk to stretch every hour or so, if able. go get a drink of water, make a lap or hand deliver a message instead of emailing. can you walk on your lunch break? be creative :) good luck!
  • welcome! it definately helps being accountable for everything you eat, and really encourages me to exercise daily. good luck!!
  • i would question the accuracy of the food items entered to you daily food log. 4 oz of chicken shouldn't put you over your limit, especially with 1 oz of cheese. i've found that some entries aren't as accurate as others, so even if i think i've found the item i'm looking for, double check the main nutrition numbers to make…

  • have you had her to her family doctor lately? thyroid concerns, diabetes, I would want to rule all that out first too, just to be sure nothing is overlooked that could be triggering her hunger, other than her medication like you mentioned. maybe it's just a growth spurt too? otherwise, try high protein meals and snacks,…
  • i've replaced portions of the vegetable oil with applesauce before in recipes and it does reduce the fat content and keep baked goods really moist, altho I would hesitate to replace it all. never heard of the diet soda before :) interesting! check the cooking light website for baking alternatives. I've also subbed yogurt…
  • Maybe this link will help: http://www.livestrong.com/article/4734-need-recommended-daily-sodium-intake/ It seems like a reliable source, about daily sodium intake, and how little your body needs for basic functioning is the key point, only about 500mg/day. So if you are getting at least that I wouldn't worry about it. It…
  • yay for skinny saturdays! great job on your weight loss this week!!!
  • Welcome! I've only been on MFP for <3 weeks but I find that when I am encouraging to others it motivates me more. In my mind, how can I encourage others to eat healthy and exercise if I'm not setting an example? There are lots of posts with people looking for the answers to the same questions I'm asking, and that motivates…
  • i would probably try to find something close to the menu item. otherwise, you can always ask for things to be grilled instead of fried and other alternatives. have you searched google for the nutrition information? you can always add it manually under foods. enjoy the night out!
  • i tried monitoring my sugar for like 2 days and got so frustrated because i was always over but it was from fresh fruit and healthy sources. i agree that its the processed sugar you sould be more concerned about. If you are monitoring your sugar on here, take a closer look at what you eat that contributes the most - is it…
