  • It's accumulated 3500 calories that aren't burned = a pound. You could potentially do this in a day, week, month....

  • You may also try looking for a unit or worksample as that would be multiple lessons that build or are related. edit - http://lessonplanspage.com/sciencebigpenguinthemeunit5day13-htm/
  • I need all the help in the kitchen I can get. Thanks for the great ideas.
  • One large box of baking soda, one box of washing soda (found in laundry detergent aisle), one box of 20 mule borax (also in laundry aisle), one bar of fels naptha grated finely with a cheese grater (or 2 bars of your favorite soap....I use an organic oatmeal based one). Stir it all together...you'll want bucket probably.…
  • The chemicals in fabric softener are ones that break down the material, hence the softness. If you are using technical clothing it will not last as long, especially if it has any stretch or wool in it. Most tags specify not to use fabric softener. By all means if you aren't concerned about how long it lasts I'd say use it.
  • I make my own. It's a lot less chemicals and WAY cheaper. If they're extra sweaty put I vinegar in the bleach dispenser - works great and is much easier on both your clothes and the machine!
  • CrunchyBetty is great. Lemon Juice also works as a deodorant, not antiperspirant though if you're looking for that.

  • Foodily.com - you can choose what to cook with and without. You can also sort by low-fat, low-sodium and quite a few other options.
  • HRMs aren't accurate (strap or no strap types) for all day wear. If you're looking for that kind of feedback look into a bodybugg, bodymedia or fitbit device. If you're completely against a chest strap to get a HRM that is pretty accurate you're going have to invest more that $65. In that price range if you're going to get…
  • 1 cup Steel Cut (Pinhead) Oats 2 cups apple juice 2 cups water 1 tsp or so cinnamon 2 apples peeled and diced 8 hours in the crockpot....yum this does make about 6 cups of oatmeal. it can be frozen and warmed later. super easy!
  • The other site has my calories set at 833 to lose 2lb/week..... a little scary.
  • Assuming you're eating your TDEE, you need to bike 500-1000 calories a day. To be more exact than we'd need to know your caloric intake, how many calories you burn when you ride, etc.
  • At first the heat will really get to you. Stop and rest when you need. After a couple sessions (give it at least 3-4 before judging it...it's usually not love at first sight) you'll be used to it. Take a yoga towel, or really big beach towel, to cover your mat. Also take room temperature water, ice water is discouraged…
  • Hah! I agree. I'd also agree if you took the word 'with' out of the sentence.
  • Try exercising off the chips rather than seeking a laxative. I agree you need help in your views of food. I don't say this to be rude but out of concern. Seek help to change your food perspective.
  • This is what I do when I do wear them. I only wear if I'm planning a longer (20+ miles) ride.
  • Bob's Red Mill - It's a local company for me and it's environmentally friendly as a big bonus.
  • 1 cup steel oats 2 cups apple juice 2 cups water 2 apples peeled and chopped sprinkle (or a bit more) cinnamon Crock Pot 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low (I prefer on low and usually cook 7ish hours) Delicious!!!
  • Looking at your diary you are eating a lot of processed foods. Though it doesn't show I'd guess your sodium intake is very high. This would cause you to retain water. If you retain water that's usually going to be the first thing you lose too. In my opinion, you may look into eating more natural, unprocessed foods.
  • Yep! This one is great. I've owned more expensive ones but, this has been my favorite and lasted the longest. It leaves the pulp very dry.
  • Often chocolate cravings are a magnesium deficiency. You may try taking a supplement (or extra supplement) just before time your cravings usually start. It works for me.
  • I have a dog that will occasionally need to be rehydrated. The 2 things we found to get her to drink water (and shortly after she'll usually eat) is either spread peanut butter on the bottom of the water bowl and then put a couple centimeters of water on top or to add the liquid from a can of tuna to the water. Hope she…
  • Yes. This. Potatoes and Tomatoes also fall into this list. http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=62
  • I've owned Timex, Sportsline, Garmin and Polar. All of them you can change the battery yourself. The older Polar (like mine) say it should be sent in because there's a gasket inside but, really you it's the easiest. Take out 4 screws, change battery, make sure gasket hasn't moved, and put the screws back in. The Timex and…
  • Portland - Love the NW. :)
  • I've had 18 removed with 5 more being taken off soon (long story short, MAJOR needle phobia, have to be put to sleep to remove or biopsy so every time I have a questionable mole they put me to sleep and remove the 5 most worrisome). Two of them were cancerous, one on the back of my heel and one on the back of my ankle. The…
  • Is it the type where you have to press it to your wrist to get a reading? Unless you do that regularly it won't be getting information on your heart rate and it will go off of your resting heart rate.
  • Yoga is a broad term. Hatha? Bikram? Kundalini? Each has it's merits. Some are more meditative while others work you out more. All work core and flexibility.
  • I rock pale. When I was younger I tanned. Since then I've had 2 cancerous moles that were in places that the sun was unlikely to have caused (bottom of my foot, back of my heel). Just not worth it.
  • MFP shouldn't have changed your goal to 1140. It doesn't go below 1200 unless you manually change it. If you put in that you'd like to maintain weight you'll see your recommendation for long term. If you are looking to lose a little and tone up try eating 100-150 calories a day less than your maintenance calories and…
