  • You are right, spot reducing is a myth. You must get plenty of exercise both cardio and resistance training and only your body will decide exactly where to take off the weight.
  • The only way to trim up the tummy is to lose body fat overall, unfortunately we can't decide where the body takes off the weight first and those of us who gain in the mid section tend to lose in that area last, don't let that discourage you. Core and abdominal exercises will strengthen the area and full body workouts…

  • my swimming is usually way lower calorie burn than my other activities
  • You should watch the documentary Simply Raw http://documentaryheaven.com/simply-raw-reversing-diabetes-in-30-days/ the change in the participants is amazing. My boyfriend is vegan and has been for 18 years, I'm vegetarian but eat mostly vegan so if you have any questions about recipes or whatever let me know.
  • You are thinking of wasabi the green spicy horseradish type paste you get with sushi. Miso is different, usually white, brown or reddish and not spicy, you can find it in many health food or oriental stores.
  • You must remember that muscle weighs more than fat you most likely lost fat and added muscle. How are your clothes fitting?
  • I haven't made it in a long time but I used a marinade of about 2 Tbs Orange juice concentrate, 1/4 cup Balsamic vinegar with rosemary, salt, pepper and basil. Marinade is also great on chicken or tofu.
  • I like to use 1 package pasta noodles, 1 can or jar of sauce, 1 sauce can or jar of water, 1 package of Tofurky Italian sausage sliced ( or any precooked sausage if you eat meat) and mozzarella grated, put half the cheese in, stir and put the rest on top. Super Yummy.
  • I'm a pet groomer but soon I'll be something else ; )
  • My boyfriend and I are doing P90 with the P90X stretch on our rest days in preparation for the full P90X program. Neither of us felt like we were fit enough to go straight to it. We both are seeing results, at day 37 I'm already down 16 lbs. my pants (even my skinny ones) are falling down and I have a lot more muscle tone…
  • I lost 4 pounds in the first week also, a lot of the initial weight loss is most likely water and comes off really fast. It will steady at a lesser rate soon I would guess.
  • When I have a major sweet tooth I love cocoa roast almonds, sweet and chocolate enough to keep me away from anything really naughty.
  • Great Job! When I get there, hopefully in a week or two, I'm going to have a spa day. Are you doing anything special to treat yourself for the good work?

  • You may want to try snacking on calorie dense foods like nuts to make sure you are getting enough healthy calories without feeling over full. Trail mix can make a good snack too.
  • I also have low calorie burn and low blood pressure, my resting heart rate (HR) is in the high 60's to low 70's. It seems really hard to get my HR up to show a good calorie burn even though I'm working hard enough to get out of breath and sweat a lot.
  • Kale Spinach any grain cereal, Malt O' Meal, Oatmeal and such with dried fruit in it
  • You should look at what types of food you are eating. There are many foods that are calorie dense, however fresh veggies and fruits can give you a lot of bulk and a full feeling without nearly as many calories plus all the added health benefits. In our household we have a large salad to fill us up before eating the main…

  • When I was in the favorite exercises of the drill sergeants were push-ups, sit-ups (all the way up) leg lifts, mountain climbers, jumping jacks and of course running. Your PT test is a 2 mile run, and as many as you can do in two minutes of each push-ups and sit-ups. Walk at a good marching pace as much as possible until…
