Thank you. I REALLY needed the years off; getting mistaken for a mom when I was just babysitting wasn't very fun!

Thank you all. I'm hoping that my next pic will be a bikini photo

Tiny by stature, yes... Tiny by waist circumference, not yet but getting there!! Mediann: Thanks for the suggestion! 30DS is definitely on my list of things to try!

If you do this often, yes, it's a bad thing. Eating too much protein can overwhelm your liver and kidney, and increases your likelihood of developing kidney stone.

Not all "disabled" people need a wheelchair or even a cane. Some people simply just need to walk less, so it can be hard to tell sometimes. Though I guess it gets obvious if the only person that walks out of the car is some energetic teenager skipping his way to the store!

Think of it this way... 1200 calories is the amount you consume to lose weight WITHOUT exercise. When you're exercising, you need to eat more...

5' 1.5", starting weight was at LEAST 186lbs... possibly as high as 190. I'm around 135lbs right now and need to lose a lot more. I can grab two fistfuls of belly fat and that's not good! I don't have a goal weight. What I have is a goal LOOK. Slender and muscular, like a fitness model! Frame-wise, I have no hips, and my…

This has nothing to do with a guy being shallow (or not shallow). People are being asked to rate attractiveness solely based on looks. How is this whole thing not shallow? Not shallow is when you can see past the way a person looks on the outside. Mind you, just because I think this is shallow, doesn't mean I think it's…

Cuddling with my doggie is one of my favorites

Haha, I have no appetite when I'm sick like this, so I'm not too worried about overeating! I think my triceps have definitely gotten smaller though :(

Depends on how much you have to lose. Someone who needs to lose 300 lbs can lose a lot more quickly than someone who needs to lose just 10. Off topic, but I've never found the term weight "loss" to be discouraging or de-motivating in any way, shape or form :)

My mom was prescribed steroids and developed diabetes some time afterwards. Her pharmacist brother blames the steroids for killing her pancreas :(

While BMI does not account for body fat/ muscle ratio, chances are, a female who's 5' 1" and 170lbs is carrying quite a bit of excess body fat. A "normal" girl at that height would be around 110lbs, and you can add maybe 15 pounds of muscle weight to that... not likely unless she's lifting weights on a regular basis, but…

10 calories/ minute is about right for me when I'm kicking my butt, i.e. the hardest I can go. On a 30- to 60-minute session, though, it averages down to about 9 calories/ minute. I am 29 years old, female, and 135.5 lbs.

This isn't about reaching a certain age. It's about how mature and prudent the individual is. Some people never gain enough maturity and wisdom to choose a suitable partner no matter how old they get... There are also exceptional people who become ready at a surprisingly early age. Then there are all sorts of people in…

This. It's okay to have treats like that; you just need to make sure you're getting enough protein and whatnot. FYI, MFP's default protein setting is rather low, so you want to eat more protein than what MFP recommends.

I flex my arms in front of a mirror. When I see my visibly toned triceps, I feel good (and feel motivated to working on making my other muscles visible).

My boobs have shrunk, and I like them better because they're not saggy anymore. It'd be nice to have firm, larger boobs, but if I have to choose between firm 34C and saggy 40D, I'm going with the firm. (Also kinda embarrassing, but my nipples were stretched out and HUGE before... Now they're within the normal size range,…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinach Apparently, spinach can not only hinder your body's ability to absorb iron, it can also REMOVE iron from your body. It may not be an issue for some people, but if you're already iron deficient, limiting your spinach consumption seems like a good idea.

Clams, clams, CLAMS. Anything with clams. (Not oysters or mussels though, as far as I know.)

You can't make your body lose fat in specific areas. Your body will lose fat in whatever order it feels like (which is determined by genetics, as far as I understand). What you can do is to just keep losing fat, and sooner or later your boobs will lose too, at least a little bit. Do both cardio and weight lifting, stick to…

If it's not a chain restaurant, estimating calories could get tricky. But is the chicken fillet breaded? What kind of sauces (if any) is in it -- mayonnaise? Ketchup? mustard? Don't stress too much about it if it's only an occasional thing, i.e. once in every 2-4 weeks. :flowerforyou:

Two different restaurants can produce two VERY different chicken burgers, nutritionally. What restaurant are you getting these from?

You're missing the point. Many of these people aren't asking for compliments or approval. Sometimes you get negative comments when you haven't asked for any kind of feedback -- and/ or when you haven't even been talking about health/ weight loss/ etc. They don't necessarily want a pat on the back; they just want to do…

I agree with Qarol. 2.5lbs per week is not slow at all! If working out makes you hungrier, eat more. Serious exercise means you need to eat more than you would without it, so you can fuel your body. Can you get some exercise done during lunchtime at work?
-
I guess by "wellness" they just mean they're not skipping breakfast... which is a start.

Look up the nutritional info beforehand. There are plenty of decent choices at Red Lobster (well, except for the sodium which tends to be really high). There's got to be one or two good ones that you'd enjoy.

There are definitely multiple possibilities. In addition to what MikeSEA brought up, could it be that you're not measuring your food portions correctly? That could lead to significant under/ overeating, and neither is beneficial.

I don't think apple juice acts as a laxative for adults? It does though, for small children.

What is it about your food intake that you feel guilty about? Any specific details? Or is this more of a vague blah feeling of nonspecific regret?
