Unfortunately you wouldn't be much happier with education in Ohio. But, good luck to you on your weight loss journey!

The lounge is pretty far for me too and I only get a 30 minute lunch. I ate with a group in another teacher's room last year and that worked well. My struggle is with the evenings. When I am exhausted I make porr choices. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey!

Congratulations...nice work!

I don't have the kind of phone service to have access to this site, bummer. So, I tend to log somewhere mid to late afternoon. However, i had a few scares where dinner had to be light to stay within goal. So, I may start to preplan and prelog. You can always change it if you eat something different.

Yep...I can see the difference. Awesome job! What an inspiration you are for us all!

Thanks so much for this reply! We only get 220 minutes per week planning and it seems I need every minute to prep my hands on first grade lessons. Also, we lose our planning periods due to meetings and spot subbing. We have trouble getting subs in our building because our school is broke and they pay subs such a low…

Thanks for this reply! We did this one year and did videos too. The group just kept getting smaller and smaller until we finally stopped it. This is a great idea if you get a dedicated bunch. Unfortunately our school day has gotten later and later over the years and now we get out at 4:23pm. Most people have to get home…

A lot of us have posted "teacher's lounge" concerns. We have to put our heads together to solve this one. Can't we just donate the stuff? lol I am not a morning person, so I can't exercise much in the morning. When I get home I just can't motivate to do it after being on my feet all day with first graders. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the tip. I did not realize we had control over these numbers.

I have been going over on the protein too. I am not stressing about it becasee I feel better with a bit higher protein count. However, I am curious too as to how they arrived at the number.

Moderation is the key! Even things that are good for you can cause harm if you injest too much of the stuff. For example, we all know how good water is for you and I read somewhere that you can drink too much of the stuff.

I love my job as a teacher! It is very demanding and I work long hours. But, I really feel I am making a difference in the lives of my students. It is very rewarding to get kids reading!

Wow, look at all the teachers who responded! I am so encouraged by your posts. Thank you to all for the great words! If you need a friend to cheer you on, I am here!

Thanks for this reply! I will see what works and will try to stay positive!

sherryteach, thanks for the list of food suggestions! If I could eat only 1 chocolate, I would try that too. Maybe after I am on this awhile I will be able to portion control better. It is interesting to see what other schools do in different areas as far as scheduling. I am so used to a traditional schedule I am not sure…

I saw that you can start a blog on this site. Has anyone done that? I am thinking of doing it. I am sort of a reflective person and thought it might help me.

Amanda great advice! The thing I have the most trouble with is drinking water due to the restroom issue. Crazy profession that you can't even go to the restroom when you need to! Last year I went from 9:50 to 1:00 with no break due to having the first planning of the day and the last lunch. I will have to see when my…
