You did a wonderful job linking to the former thread (I am avoiding the word "old". Thanks for doing this.

The weekend was long. The Packers won. Marquette and the Badgers won. It looks to be a great time to be in Wisconsin. Who would have thought those words could be uttered in December. A few too many calories ingested and not much exercise. The later was by choice. I am stiff and feel the need to stretch more than burn.…

I work both day from 7-5; so I plan on going home, eating, reading, and watching basketball today and football tomorrow.

Thanks for the AB site. It sure beats crunches. Going to weigh in now.

only got 100 done today. I ran out of time, motivation, and energy.

Okay, now i am slightly scared. I am scheduled to go to the gyn for evaluation of retrocele/cystocele (droopy bladder and uterus) on January 3. I know surgery will be suggested. I am at the weight I want to be now. Has anyone had these surgeries or know of someone who did. Was there weight gain, side effects, a prolonged…

I'm in. I was thinking overnight that I needed some arm work. You are psychic!

Done. This was much more difficult than it looked. I had to do them in sets of 50.
-
youtubing it now.
-
Done. I did them as sets of 50 with 5 pound weights. I know that is wimpy, but it's has been a long time since I have done any lifting other than boxes.

It's been too long since I was at this site, but I am back. I need you and your challenges to keep me on track.

My victory is a compliment (or many), having lost weight and cut my hair short, I have people who haven't seen me for a few months telling me how much the haircut make me look younger and so good. I am not sure if the weight is noticed, but i know it is a factor. No more chipmunk cheeks for me.

I love you thinking. I was always skeptical of those "in five weeks you will be...", but they are somewhat accurate. Good for you. I hope you break your Christmas goal.

I have been logging food and water pretty carefully. The holiday season and dinners out are often reflected as quick calories. I will do the push ups and try to keep walking every day. I know how sluggish I feel if I don't get in some exercise. Anyone got a quick cure for the worries. I have so much on my mind, so many…

I LOVE this thread. I promise to make all the recipes in the next month. It is so exciting to see new foods that work for me.

thanks - I ordered my free samples of Quest bars. I usually get the Abbott Zone Perfect bars - I am partial to the chocolate mint and the strawberry yogurt.

Okay, I am posting this little ditty in a few places (mostly because I thought it was cute). "Want to lose weight; then it's time to get MAD! - that's Motivation-Activity-Diet" So let's all get MAD before Christmas.

weighed in and I was back to where I was two weeks ago. It's only a three pound fluctuation, and factoring in Thanksgiving yesterday, I am not too worried. I am all for continuing into December. Good luck to everyone!

Re: What kind of barley? I use the regular kind. It takes a while to cook, but I often do it the night before. Then I can just heat it up with a little more liquid or in the microwave in the morning. I have also done it in the slow cooker. I am a bit creative here. I add a serving of barley and the required water to a 2…

Loving the challenges. I wanted to add that a great way to get in whole grain and start your day is to have grains hot at breakfast. We've all had oatmeal, but a lot of other grains work equally well. Sweeten them with honey or a small amount of fruit, spice them up with cinnamon, curry, or nutmeg. On of my favorites:…

MFP has had me at 1200 calories for my entire membership. i have had to eat less to lose.

I'm pretty sure I met most of the challenges this week. Today was a big sodium day, but I drank lots of water. I think Healthy Choice soups should be renamed to Lo fat-High sodium choice soups. The exercise part has been easy, but the food choices are tough when we spend so much time away from home.

To all the newbies - Welcome. Make sure you add some of us as friends. It will make the journey so much more pleasant.

Finished the challenges for week 6. 1. I invited both my husband and a girlfriend on walks this week. I also did weight training with my son. 2 I read the article on sleep. I think i am okay. 3.I did not buy a pedometer. I know I get in sufficient steps. I walk 3-5 miles a day. 4. My only vitamin is a calcium supplement. I…

Thanks for the invite. I have slowly been gaining. It is my fault. Yesterday was a five course over 300 calorie dinner. But the lobster thermidor was awesome. I promise to do better with all of your help behind me.

Room for one more? I really need a challenge to work hard and stay on track.

Malumyangel Thanks for the coffee cake recipes. I love to eat (obviously, or I wouldn't be here) and this sounds like just the ticket.

@mabellebam GREAT JOB reporting in! I am so excited to see people get involved. I am sure it motivates Jenn when we do this. I would like to add my sneaky workouts. At work I do calf raises whenever I am standing around. I also do chair push-ups. I have a chair with arms and I push down on them to raise my backside from…
