  • I had five children at home at one time. If they did not like the meal served; they were free to make something else. Guess what, all are much better cooks and bakers than their mom is.
  • Done. The video was very helpful. I used a five pound weight (because that was all I have).
  • Thanks for still posting these daily challenges. I have been away from them for too long, and it shows. I am so happy to be back.
  • Waffles - I have declared " Waffle Wednesday" as an official weekly holiday. I give myself to eat them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on Wednesdays.
  • my husband had his colonoscopy yesterday. A few diverticula but no polyps. A clean (literally) colon and bill of health. Count him as one happy customer.
  • Have you forgotten Octomom and her Angela Jolie face changes?
  • I had mine in January; my hubby goes in May - count us as 2
  • so confused! How is different from an egg white omelet with cheese?
  • Sorry, I never reported back on the bone density study. It was a breeze. I am osteopenic - between good and bad density. I have not been told to take prescription drugs. I am on a Calcium supplement twice a day. Exercise and some weight training were recommended. Part of the blame was put on my past life ( those teenage…
  • Remember even in math, there are different kinds of functions. I like to compare the post-menopause life to an exponential function. Things progress at a great curve the more you age. I would love to be my 27 year old weight, but because of math, I am 15 pounds heavier at age 55. It's okay, math is physics; physics, is…
  • Try taking the opposite approach, spend more time with her. Do something mundane: cook a meal, make fun of yourself, sit side by side and read separate magazines. You are the role model and the structure giver. Take charge and see if see comes around. She sounds like she is reaching out for acceptance.
  • Wine has been a staple since Biblical days. I would not use exercise as an excuse to give it up or blame the wine for weight gain. In moderation it is a gift from the Big Guy's Son (Think: Last Supper).
  • Any change in a behavior pattern can be a cause of concern. If he is already seeking outside help, he should address this issue. You also should talk to someone, other than us (As we are probably not all qualified to handle this); this change is affecting you and your perception of your husband. It sounds like the beer has…
  • Most of the instant packets add sugar and a lot of sodium. I just used the regular round container of quick cooking oats in the morning. It takes about three minutes to do. I add cranberries, raisins whatever. Sometimes instead of water, I make it with 1/2 fruit juice. I feel so much better getting an entire cup of cooked…

  • I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld and Tiffany Acking's books. My ultimate fantasy serieses (if that is a word) are Modisett's Recluse series and David Edding's Belgariad and Mallorian series. The later author truly was a don't go to sleep just read type of book for me.
  • I figure here is as good any any to give you my status report. I am now 5 weeks post hysterectomy/pelvic and vaginal repair (They were all sagging). I can now walk a couple of miles a day. No lifting yet - so that means I can't go back to work for a while "(how sad", she says sarcastically). I have gained about 5 pounds. I…
  • Please seek some help. Take a walk in the meantime. You need to feel better. I am glad you have an appt scheduled. Take care and God bless you.
  • So sorry I also have been out of touch. Way too much going on in my life. To be honest, I even forgot about the group link. I have not been logging my weight due to a somewhat unsavory note I received from an MFP person who implied that if I am that small I don't belong here. I will keep checking in as time goes on. An…
  • You should be proud. That is a wonderful smile you are sharing. I am sure it reflects you new attitude.
  • I'm all for the Hip Hop Abs. The tilt, tuck, and tighten feels good. I pretend I am some kind of pole dancer when I am doing the moves. i could never do them in front of anyone else.
  • okay, now I am officially scared. Was at the doctor today for a gyn check (having bladder and uterine prolapse), he recommended a pessary which caused me to pass out (a little vasovagal fun for all). Next stop hysterectomy! I am at my ideal weight; I don't want the gain. What strategies can be used to prevent this? Looking…
  • Being an A cup on a big day, and usually a AA, I don't have much to add. I would tell you that breast reduction should not be a last option. My daughter is 5'4" and about 125 pounds (when not 9 months pregnant - which is now). She had breast reduction surgery done at age 24 (from a EE cup to a B). She has never been…
  • I will be checking it out. Thanks for not giving up on us.
  • Elegant, restless, eloquent, and naive. - That's me!
  • So far I have added two pounds over the holiday. I will stop this and maintain a healthy weight in 2012. I have heard that keeping the weight off is harder than losing it. I have to prove that wrong. I know it will be a life-long obligation that I owe to myself. Here goes the first step. Weigh-in tomorrow and then it's off…
  • I have friends like you to remind me that all is not sucky in the world. I have family that delivers the same message daily. I have a job, health, and a husband who means the world to me and I to him. Thank you for starting this post. My the unicorn of life touch you with its golden horn.
  • Skipping a challenge seems so drastic. Why not make it something holiday themed. I propose each of of reach out to a friend or relative that we are not on the best of terms with. This may be a simple as a holiday card or greeting. Try to make the world a better place.
  • sounds like a wonderful idea to clean after the holidays. I am sure all the taking things to the trash or Goodwill will burn up something.
  • I didn't really notice a big increase, nor did my MD, but everyone's body is different. I think it is good advice to watch your BP. I would not stop exercising. You are making positive changes to your lifestyle. They may in fact be helping a problem you did not know existed. Good Luck!
  • My first is scheduled for January 3. You can bet I will be waiting to here how things go during the test and what is proscribed after.
