  • The last two days mine is going crazy again and not sure why. And I'm rehabbing a tweaked posterior tibial tendon so I am confined to a stationary bike and the elliptical. I have gotten to where when it seems so ridiculous like this, I just ignore it. MFP shrieks that I am starving and death is imminent, but I just use…
  • That's good news. Mine was great in the beginning, though. I'm not sure if the firmware update changed something or what. But yeah, I've done this MFP thing for several years so I pretty much know what I need to eat and what I don't for losing. It's trickier when I get to maintenance for me, which hopefully will be in a…
  • Well, that's the only difference I made -- changing the level -- so unless Garmin did something on their end, anybody who's getting way too many exercise calories may want to try changing it. Worked for me. I actually ended up behind Fitbit by bedtime, which never happens, so I moved it to 7 from 8 for today and will see…
  • Okay, something is drastically different today. Anybody else got that going on? I actually recharged my FitBit and wore it today. So far steps between the two devices are about 20 steps apart. Fitbit has given me 12 floors and Garmin 6 (my vivo is soooo stingy with floors). BUT the active calories is WAY down from…
  • Well, that change in activity level didn't seem to help. :( I ran a mile on the treadmill this morning to get my HR up to do strength training. Got 86 calories, which is spot on. Did circuit training and it gave me too many (but it always does) at 224 calories for 35 minutes. BUT I am now, at 2 p.m., at 859 active…
  • for some reason, the settings link is NOT at the top of any of my pages. How bizarre. The only way I could find it was searching online and then getting the link from the Garmin Connect FAQs. What the heck? Anyway, now that I have found it, the level is set at 5. I think I'll bump it up to 8 because with walking the dog,…
  • I have the Vivoactive HR (got it for Christmas) and I'm seeing some weird results, especially with outdoor walking. Two days ago I walked with my dog. I did it in 1:16:XX and the calories awarded was 359, which is a lot higher than any online calculators I've seen. Today I walked 3.6 miles in 1:14:34 on the exact same…
  • Good grief. Went to gym today. 4 miles on treadmill, 414. Yeah, that's right. 20 minutes of circuit training, 165 calories. I think that's high, but whatever. Active calories going over to MFP? 778. I had like 700 steps when I left for the gym and have done nothing but come home and shower. So I get another 200 calories…
  • I literally teared up with happiness and pride for you. What a wonderful accomplishment to take your life back and not giving up when things are hard. #rockstar
  • Today it's pushing 698 active calories over. I ran 3.1 on a treadmill and did about 30 minutes of circuit training. It awarded 180 calories for the strength training and 314 for the run. It's then given me another 200 calories to sit at my desk the rest of the day apparently, though.
  • No, I haven't been able to really make sense of it. My BMR is like 1243. I want to lose a pound a week ,but MFP says I can't go below 1200 so it says more like 3/4th of a pound a week. BUT then Garmin comes in and slaps all these extra active calories in along with my workout calories. MFP keeps screaming at me to eat, but…
  • I just discovered this myself. I deleted the adjustment because most of what I did today was an activity that it already gave me calories for. Have you figured this out yet?
  • It says all functionality is restored now. I was able to activate my fitbit app (I had uninstalled before I saw the thread not to). My food went to FitBit but as of now, my exercise still isn't going to MFP. It has been "hinky" as of late. I don't recall having this many problems with sync between the two in a very long…
  • Mine has too -- both directions as of today. No food to FitBit and no exercise to MFP
  • YAY!!! I was sure that had been selected before, but maybe in the revoking hokey pokey, it got removed. Anyway, Just used that link and I AM BACK IN ACTION. Thanks so much!!!!
  • I have the same problem (one-way syncing) for about three days. I've disconnected/revoked and reconnected and still no steps/exercise from FitBit to MFP. I emailed support and they said they were aware of it, but still not working as of today.
  • Am on my third one (drowned an Ultra, lost one in the attic) and it's a One. My husband and I love them and we've had a Fitbit in one form or another for over two years now. You will park further away from places, look for stairs and hills, etc., if you're motivated by that stuff (which we are). :)
  • Fantastic milestone! Congrats!
  • Like a lot of others, I had already been running and had several 5Ks under my belt before I thought about longer distances. I started training for a 10K and ran that in June of that year so I just kept going and signed up for a September Half. You look young in your photo and I know you kids can get away with a lot we more…
  • If you flew, for some reason that makes you retain water. You probably got a lot more sodium than your regular diet too -- more water. Good advice upstream. Chill, stay the course, avoid panic and it will come off. Been in my maintenance range of 4 pounds for over a year. Went away for the long weekend and came back 3…
  • I use a protein shake as all or part of my breakfast every day. I'm pretty small so if I'm not running super-long distances, it can be enough for the start of the day. I use Alive Pea Protein -- it's not only got the protein, but all sorts of vitamins, minerals, and other awesome stuff in it. All I have to add to my daily…
  • I'm sure none of them are perfect (My Fitbit will record activity in a car ride, for example) but my Fitbit and my Garmin are pretty darned close on distance and calories burned over all (Fitbit doesn't "get" running so I override it with the 910XT distance stats, but the calories are usually within a very small margin).…
  • Fit and Fabulous!!! Congratulations. You look wonderful.
  • congratulations and continued good health to you and your entire family!
  • Yes, you look fabulous and definitely younger. congratulations on a fabulous accomplishment!
  • Just wanted to give you a huge congrats for getting it done in the face of adversity! We all think we have problems until we read about somebody with real problems. Again, way to go!
  • thank you! anybody who bemoans "just" losing 5 pounds or 10 pounds -- it all adds up. That's why I have to be more religious with MFP and keeping track so I don't creep back up again, too.
  • thanks so much -- and I figured out to uncap the IMG and it worked!
