  • LadyAshe - for a newbie it sounds like you nailed it right on. As the other posts said, 1200 eaten calories, minus 300-500 worked out - nets 700-900 calories and the body will go "whoa - I'm not given up any of my fat stores as I need them to keep my brain, heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, etc...working"

  • There are some good threads on that out there...but essentially as an overview: If you put in that you weigh XXX pounds, that your goal is X pounds per week, then based on your level of activity it suggests that you eat say 1,200 calories. You need to net 1,200 calories to lose the weight you are trying to lose, and keep…
  • For spagetti there is a cool tool you can probably pick up at walmart of something...it's a piece of plastic with holes in it - based on the size of the hole when you put it over your pasta and it tells you the serving size...usually 3-5 holes. from smaller to bigger. I did a google seach and found one through "the…
  • Just one point - if you watched the interview...she entered into mediation and agreed to confidentiality in the matter - when Larry asked about it she declined to comment citing confidentiality - which is a reasonable response. However Larry kept pushing it - had he left it alone it would have been an non-issue. I love…
  • Because you aren't tracking each exercise anyway - enter it under Cadiovascular as Strenth or Weight Training - the amount of time and the calories.
  • Well...1200 calories - net - what does that mean? If it means eating exercise calories...then I am not sure that is too little, but it if doesn't include exercise calories...then you certainly aren't eating enough. Also - you mention exercise...most of your exercise is aerobic...what about strength training? What are you…
  • Plain Mucinex does have guafanisin (sp?) but the DM is dextromethorphan..some say not to use if: heart disease. high blood pressure. thyroid disease. diabetes. trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland. glaucoma. cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus). a breathing problem or persistent or chronic cough…
  • I did 35 minutes this morning...my heart rate ranged from 129 to 96 with an average of 119 - for a burn of 281 - it was a bit lighter than if my average is in the 120/130s, where I am more like 320-360 calories....so that sounds about right.
  • Here is somemore - from another website she gave some tips to the readers of Ok! Magazine on how they can quickly lose a dress size for an upcoming event. Here are nine things a gal can do: 1. Take three to five days to prepare. 2. Drink a gallon of water a day with two tea bags of dandelion tea, all-natural cranberry…
  • Here is a link to a short video from Jillian - not sure it answers the questions...but here you go. http://www.nowloss.com/jillian-michaels-lose-5-pounds-in-7-days-diet-drink.htm
  • I'm in Parker - further south. I will look through and see if I have found any folks who are from the aurora area and let you know. Welcome...I hope you like the area - I have lived here for nearly 9 years and simply love it here.
  • What part of denver? I might know of some folks depending on what part of Denver you are from.
  • HRMs calculate calories burned more accurately than guessing, averages, or the monitors on treadmills. Now granted....it is a calculation...and it depends on your accurate input of key data - age, gender, height, weight, etc. It then takes your exertion level, as recorded over your exercise, based on your heart…
  • I'm not getting a Kohls ad - but I've seen lots of Jillian!
  • Remember that chicken breast come in different sizes - so unless you measure you may be getting results from people who have measured it differently. As noted above - the standard is 4 oz.
  • chgudnitz makes a good point - if you lost 30lbs - and you were at 200 before...thats 15% body weight - and at your new weight you would need less calories to sustain that weight - meaning less calories to lose additional weight. Also - if you are using an HRM at all you have to adjust the weight there too - or it will…
  • Go with chicken fajitas - but no tortillas (or maybe corn ones). Eat the chicken with salsa/pico, maybe some rice. Also drink lots of water.
  • Correct - a calorie is a calorie is a calorie - and you need to count them (there are natural sugars in fruit and you still have to eat in moderation - same with drinking fruit juices)
  • If your glass is an 8 oz glass - then it's a same...or if it's a pint glass and you fill it half full - but a cup is a unit of measure (as in 8 oz for liquid). Same at the bottom of the food page when you are tracking your water intake - a cup is 8 OZ.
  • Similiar to many cases in the US - the cable company runs the local TV stations through their system so you can see local channels while hooked up to cable - but doesn't pay local tv stations a royalty for broadcasting their channels - and in some cases you might have to pay extra to get the local channels through…
  • According to the USDA nutrient database - an 8 ounce cup of coffee (brewed from grounds) has just 2 (yes two) Calories. The calories come from a tiny amount of protein and some mono-unsaturated oils. The coffee bean has oils in it (which is why a barista often needs to clean their espresso machine to prevent an oily build…

Your body needs enough water to carry out many vital body functions and help you perform at your best. That’s why it’s so important to stay…
  • There are a bunch of wendys bacon cheeseburgers that I saw - and they all had fat and carbs (like 12 and 24...something like that). I am not sure how you found yours...but look up another one that has all the nutrients filled out.
  • Actually - the tonsils don't produce enzymes to digest milk - the salivary glands start the process, then the stomach (not sure the tonsils actually make anything!) Additionally - the connection between milk tolerance and tonsils is that sometimes milk intolerance causes reactions in the body - including inflaming the…
