  • So you'll be a month ahead of everyone else on New Years!
  • I'm not doing keto right now because I'm not feeling the commitment right now that it takes to cook all my own meals and eat a very strict diet, but when I did it years ago, it worked amazingly well. I lost like 30+ pounds effortlessly. It pretty much fell off. And I would have days when I would eat 3,000 cals of keto…
  • Well, you're on a calorie counting forum, so keep in mind your answers will be skewed because of that. I decided to adopt the idea of intuitive eating after repeatedly feeling grossly full over the holidays. It's been two weeks so far and I am really enjoying it! Intuitive eating focuses on creating a healthier…
  • It depends on your frame. I believe I have a medium frame. I'm 5'7" and I'm on my way back down after gaining, but at 155, I looked pretty good in clothes but not quite where I wanted to be. So this time I'm shooting for 145 and I'll see what that looks like.
  • Hmm, when I was younger, my mother went through many years of dieting--and since she was the main source of food, it meant everyone had to eat what she prepared. She wouldn't allow any real sodas or treats, everything was a diet meal. If you were eating something "bad" around her, you would hear about it. She would also…
  • I have had a Fit Bit since last October and I really like it! Before that, I had the Bodymedia Fit armband, which I did not like as much. With the armband, I all the the time had people(strangers) asking me if I had some type of medical problem(???). It was no trouble to wear, but it was really ugly. I started wearing…
  • I just bought the Brooks Ghost 4s on Friday. I usually wear a 8.5-9, but had to buy the 10s to get a comfortable fit. I am really liking them so far(other than the color).
  • Unfortunately, it's been this way for 20 years. So I don't think it's bloating. Men in my family seem to have big bellies on one side, but I had yet to see women. Just lucky genes I guess. Ugh.
  • Umm, female issues... Well, probably not related, but I was diagnosed with HPV, the type that causes cervical cancer 2 years ago and treated that... I had an ovarian cyst when I was like 13, but that wasn't a huge deal and problem solved itself. I've always had an extremely long cycle 33-34 days is the norm, usually only…
  • I don't have health insurance, so no, I haven't had a check up in...years. Which is bad, I know. I haven't really had a need, I've been pretty healthy. I am getting married next year though, and then I will go on fiance's insurance I will definitely get up to date on all that stuff then though. For exercise, I jog for 30…
  • I LOVE almond butter and I have switched to it completely. Try the Justin's Nut Butter brand--the Maple Almond is my favorite. I also like the Chocolate Hazelnut butter which is a healthier alternative to Nutella with much less sugar. It does have some texture to it, but I think it's great!
  • I have completely switched over to this from skim milk. I've tried all of the varieties except Vanilla. The unsweetened is pretty bitter by itself, but if you put it in cereal or make a drink with it, it's fine--and only 35 calories for 1 cup. I wouldn't drink it plain. The dark chocolate--pretty good. Very sweet. I really…
  • I think I'm going to try this for a week or two. About 3-4 years ago, I lost 55 lbs, going from 211 to 154. The first 40 lbs were easy(and fast!), no plateaus, no stalls. Then I quite losing around 170. I became frustrated. I stopped dieting and started maintaining. I actually did this for several months. Then, when I was…
  • This is an interesting topic for me because I have just newly committed to drinking more water this very week! I have probably been chronically dehydrated my entire life--I just didn't care. I thought water was boring, I'd rather have the soda/carbonated drink. There have been plenty a day in my life where I probably had…
  • I hate attempting to lose weight in the summer because summer is the time of the year I wish I was at goal--out there, wearing hot clothes and a swim suit...and knowing that I'm still a work in progress and may not reach my goals *this summer* is sort of depressing for me. It's easier for me in the cooler and winter months…
  • I would definitely eat more. I weigh 164 lbs and I can lose weight just fine on 1,600-1,800 with very little exercise. Water is key also.
  • I'm a day 21 out of a 32 day cycle for me, but I've been stalled for a week and a half, so I don't think that's it.
