Hi everyone I just wanted to know your personal experiences with drinking water and weight loss. Did you find it helpful? Did you find that once you stopped drinking so much water you gained weight back?

This is an interesting topic for me because I have just newly committed to drinking more water this very week! I have probably been chronically dehydrated my entire life--I just didn't care. I thought water was boring, I'd rather have the soda/carbonated drink. There have been plenty a day in my life where I probably had maybe 2-3 cans of a diet drink and *that was it*.
However, after hitting one major stall in my weight loss and one minor one recently while seemingly "doing everything right", I decided it was time for me to change and get that water in! And you know what? The stall has ended! I am losing weight daily again! I had realized I had many of the symptoms of "chronic dehydration" for my whole life, which I had thought was normal, and they are starting to improve!
I also think I had a messed up view of how much water was needed. When people say "8 glasses", I had thought like 8 full, tall glasses. 8 cups, which = 8 fl oz, is much more reasonable than what I had thought. I'm drinking about 10+ cups of water these days.0 -
When I first started almost 5 months, I cut out the sodas and stuck to water like nothing else. I dropped weight, QUICK. But over time, I started picking up a Dt. Dew here, one there. Before I knew it, I was back up to 2 liters of Dt. Dew a day. My weight loss, while still progressive, slowed WAAAAAAY down. Now I'm back to limiting myself to one can per day. Sometimes two, but only if I've met my personal goal of 6 glasses of water. The loss is startin to pick back up. Have to say, I think there's just something in soda that - regardless of regular or diet - puts the pounds on.0

I don't enjoy drinking water very much. But I've realised I need to keep it up... On the days where I don't drink at least 4 cups (I have a 1litre bottle on my desk that I fill every morning at work) I feel sluggish and tired. I've realised this is how I've felt my whole life and it's amazing how just drinking more water makes such a difference.0
