If you're going for balance, it sounds like you should prioritize protein, since the only thing you've eaten today with any significant protein content was the egg. Maybe a tuna sandwich with only one slice of bread (or a tuna wrap on a tortilla)? Scrambled eggs or egg whites would also be good.

I am obsessed with this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Quinoa-and-Black-Beans/Detail.aspx?prop24=etaf !!! It's sooo good and refreshing but filling at the same time. Great for summer! But you really need the cumin and fresh cilantro to get the full effect. Edit to add: it's also vegan, if you're into that sort of…

Is Demetri Martin not cool anymore?? I LOVE him but no one has mentioned him yet...saw him live in about 2010, it was great. Also Mitch Hedberg (duh). My friends love old-school Eddie Murphy and exactly one Dane Cook routine (I don't even know! I don't even like grape jelly!), my boyfriend is obsessed with Louis CK, and my…

Any and all are welcome to add me!

hey, you know what else sucks? women hating on and shaming other women. stop putting that destructive energy out into the universe. judging and comparing yourself to others will never ever ever get you lasting happiness. also, sl*ts are awesome. like all women. give 'em a chance. you're missing out on a LOT of potential…

I'm also 21! You (and anyone) are more than welcome to add me. I've been on MFP for over a year and a half, on and off. I'm kind of back at square one, fitness-wise, but in terms of knowledge, I have learned a LOT, especially about nutrition.

premake breakfast burritos and freeze 'em. you can get super low-carb tortillas/wraps. fill it with Howl's omelet, basically. om nom nom. you know those nights where you can't wait to go to sleep because it means you're one step closer to breakfast? that's me right now.

frozen fruits and veggies are cheaper and are just as nutritious, if not more so..they are frozen at peak quality, fresh from the field, whereas fresh stuff that's out of season in your area is often shipped in from thousands of miles away and has therefore been sitting around and wasting away for awhile. also some healthy…

There are lots of ways to get intense muscular workouts without necessarily doing weights. Ballet, gymnastics, and swimming leap to mind. Pretty much any total-body workout. Depends on how ripped you want to get, I guess. The idea of doing weights bores me out of my mind but I get my strength workouts from circuit training…

Take (at least) one rest day per week and weigh in first thing the morning after it. Also, do not eat or drink anything before you weigh in and use the facilities first. Make your rest day relatively low-carb, focus on lean meat and veggies. Get plenty of sleep. There are LOTS of ways to avoid water weight and not…

thanks everyone!!

yeah this is the way I've been seeing it...I make a point of walking the way that I would if I were intentionally taking a "fitness walk," and my daily activity is more like carrying my 30-pound bookbag all over campus lol

eat when you're hungry, eat slowly, drink water, stop when you're not hungry anymore. balance each meal/snack between lean protein, good fats, and complex carbs. avoid added sugar and processed foods. move whenever you can. be honest with yourself. have a treat once in a while. don't worry about argumentative strangers :)

it's how Kate Middleton got super thin for her wedding. considering how thin she already was, it's pretty impressive. just food for thought. I did "attack phase" once and it was AWESOME but I didn't do phases 2-4 because I was abroad at the time and I didn't want to waste my last month in Europe on such a strict plan. it…

I'm 21 and EVERYONE should add me! :]

I buy it. My boyfriend and I have a really strong physical connection and sometimes if we're arguing and I feel like I'm losing him (or vice/versa) I'll try to touch him or hold him to remind us both of why we're together. He does the same thing. It's like a trigger. Edit to say: this is NOT acceptable on his part, in my…

that's totally me! I go to this crazy-hard school and sometimes I feel like I have zero support, especially now that I'm a senior and everyone is getting all stressed about the future and stuff...sometimes I don't even feel like I can be completely honest with my therapist haha

oh, by the way, my fitness-related interests: high-protein, complex-carb, minimal refined sugar exploring natural supplements and other unexpected health strategies trying new exercise, especially group classes! I <3 kettlebells, circuits, zumba, and I'm going to try pole dancing soon sports that masquerade as just-for-fun…

this. eat when you're hungry, and be mindful of whether what you're eating is appropriate to fuel the activities that you have planned until the next time you eat. calories in, calories out.

I'm obsessed with Nature's Path bars, especially the Chococonut flavor. They taste like real food...oats, coconut, chocolate. I'd say they aren't exactly less sweet than Kashi, but they are more complexly flavored.

Wellbutrin is the only antidepressant on the market in the US that isn't associated with a likelihood of weight gain.

I try to order whatever I want but either only eat half of it and take the rest home for lunch the next day (requires some willpower) or I'll share something with my dad

lentil soup!! my obsession also salad with grilled chicken and non-creamy caesar (newman's has a good one) or a vinaigrette. foods that are typically for breakfast could also work, like omelets or Greek yogurt or oatmeal.

anyone can friend me! I'm also looking to build on my support system!

I'm 20 but I'm only looking to lose 15-20 for now. but I'd still love to be friends!

frozen grapes or bananas! or a piece of fruit and ONE piece of very dark chocolate (you can get dairy-free chocolate; for example, they make vegan chocolate). have a little nibble of chocolate, suck on it while it melts, have a slice of the fruit. savor. repeat. mmmmmm.

Chicken (breasts only), Greek yogurt, lentils, rice & beans, AND my favorite thing ever--Barilla Plus pasta! it's made with egg whites and legumes and stuff so it has 10g per 2 oz serving. It's amazing. You can find cereals with similar fortifications, too, and breads. Read labels!!

I struggle with this, too--getting way over my sugar recommendation on fruit and dairy alone. I've kind of half-accepted it, but I am more honest with myself about it being a choice nowadays. I used to think of it as "fruit is good for you, you need it to get all its healthful benefits," but then someone on one of these…
