This is true but the PROTEIN is the most important part of the combo. The protein is where recovery comes from. It helps build up the muscle mass lost through exercise. Carbs are a quick fix, but not nearly as important as protein.

She's right. I went to a lecture on this a few weeks ago and chocolate milk does not actually make a great recovery drink for this very reason.

Don't get them! They are really just a big scam. There's been a study which showed NO difference between shape ups and traditional running shoes. If anything, they are just more unstable because there is such a big lift. With knee problems, I wouldn't get them if I were you. Just get some regular running shoes.

Polar FT7 is awesome! I have been using it for about a week and it's REALLY helped me out. It tracks all your personal info (height, weight, age, sex, etc) so the reads are really accurate.
