  • You silly girl. =) I can't send you a picture but I could draw one for you. LOL!
  • Dancing !
  • All of the above. I think media/marketing are huge factors as well. People get sucked into the hype and believe a lot of the junk they eat is healthy.
  • I changed the name on my FitBit to "B-UTIFUL". The other day as I was getting ready for bed it said , "I'm Ready, B-UTIFUL" Amazing how this little thing can make you smile. =)
  • Crackers with my soup. I prefer to have an entire sleeve of them, but since I'm dieting I try to limit myself to a mere 6 or 8 little crackers. I have to ration them so I still have a bite of cracker with my last bite of soup.
  • I love your attitude. This was more than a let-down, this was flat-out BRUTAL. But you're right... you can't let a piece of plastic derail you. Just remember you are better and stronger than that scale. Now go beat the living sh** out of it and post us some pics of it all pulverized into bits.
  • Hi Brian ! Sending a FR. I'm sure I will need your assistance too.
  • LMAO ! That's hilarious ! Sadly, I would still manage to eat at least some of that though !
  • Seeing all the comments confirms for me my take on this. Some people LOVE the attention, and some people SHY from it. Nothing wrong with either, but a lesson to the person giving the compliment (or as the OP stated... CONTINUOUSLY COMMENTING) not everyone feels and responds to compliments and continuous comments the same…
  • I'm with the OP on this one. I've learned from my own weight-loss experience that the best compliment to receive (and to give) is very simply.... "you look great!". period. No need to carry on asking them to tell you how much they lost (or in other words... just how FAT were they before?). If they want to say how much they…
  • <Somebody snapped this of me looking in the mirror one day. Do these pants make my *kitten* look big??
  • 1) I drive a Honda Accord 2) I was married and a mom while still in high school (still graduated, and went on to get a college degree) 3) I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but it doesn't stop me from singing. (same way with dancing) 4) I love shows about real-life murder (non-fiction only). Seriously, can't get enough of…
  • I joined in April. Spent the entire month of May stuck in a plateau. I think that now I may have broken it but honestly, the ONLY thing that kept me going was that I was tracking my measurements and could see that those numbers were going down, resulting in better BMI and Body Fat. If you aren't measuring I would HIGHLY…
  • Absolutely NOT! Nothing to be ashamed of there.
  • I usually eat 6 small meals a day. I do it because it works for me. Basically, it boils down to 6 half-meals vs. 3 full meals. I prefer it mainly because 1) I don't like to feel hungry. Once I'm hungry I tend to go for anything that's not nailed down. And 2) I don't like to be full. I hate having the feeling that I've just…
  • LOL ! Great post OP. Prior to MFP I could eat Dorito's until I was sick. Then as soon as the "sickness" would subside I'd head back for "just a few more", licking my fingers after each plunge into the bag. I haven't been able to break up with my Bud Light Lime though. We may have to continue with our "It's Complicated"…
  • I can only eat Kroger brand small curd (lowfat). I have bought many many different brands and they always get pitched in the trash because they are gross. I've stopped ordering it at restaurants too for the same reason. I don't know what Kroger does to make theirs taste so good but I love it. Very creamy. I often eat it…
  • Cleveland?! LOL. Browns Fan? JK... seriously, I've got no room to talk. Bungles here.
  • Cincinnati. Home of the Reds. Feel free to add me.
  • I prefer 6 small meals (half meals, actually) throughout the day. I don't like to be hungry and I don't like to be full so eating that way works for me. I just break it out to 6 meals that average about 200 cals each (give or take) and then add some extra to cover any exercise calories.
  • Welcome ! I'm 49 and been serious about MFP for almost 2 months. It's a great site, and the friends and support here are amazing. You'll love it here. Feel free to add me.
  • Definitely my face, chin, waist and arms. My energy level is in high gear and I'm loving it ! But my big WooHoo moment came when I realized I could cross my legs comfortably again.
  • I'm 49 1/2. Can I join your party? Feel free to add me =)
  • Bump !
  • Welcome mizawsome93 ! You are doing fabulous ! Portion control is what it's all about. You've come to the right place. I'll send you a friend request :)
  • BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate - the amount of calories your body needs basically to stay alive. TDEE is Total Daily Energy Expenditure - the amount of calories needed to fuel your body based on your activity level (sedentary, lightly active, etc.) There is a group on MFP called Eat More to Weigh Less. Do a search for that…
  • Agree with the others about finding something you like. I still have a horrible time with exercise DVDs although I manage to get Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred in a couple times a week. It's only 25 minutes including warm up and cool down. I've found my new love with zumba though. If you like dancing, zumba might be your…
  • Got your friend request. Thanks ! Glad you decided to use MFP. This community is so wonderful. You're going to love it here.
  • HRM is a Heart Rate Monitor. I know... sounds so clinical, doesn't it? That's what I thought too. For sure, the HRM sounded like the least interesting thing to me. But the FitBit will monitor your daily activity, literally all day and night (while you sleep). And it syncs with MFP automatically -- very cool. Only problem I…
