  • I usually keep my HRM (Heart Rate Monitor) in the drawer with my sports bras. Try looking there. Good luck !
  • I love Romaine lettuce. I like to add it to my spring mix - half and half. It adds a nice crunch and tastes wonderful.
  • Yes, I'm guilty. I especially do that when I eat one of those Smart Ones - Turkey and mashed potatoes. However, I have stopped licking the plate/bowl clean and then putting it back in the cupboard with the clean dishes as I did when I was like 8 years old.
  • Wow ! Very interesting perspective. After reading this I've calculated my own (using 3500 calories per pound). Mine is about 38 cals per day for the past 10 years. Thanks for sharing -- this is insightful.
  • Cottage cheese (only Kroger brand though) Lima beans Black Licorice
  • Have you taken your measurements? That is one way to see results that don't always show on the scale.
  • I would not recommend wearing it without the clip. I've heard many horror stories of people clipping the device on their clothes without using the clip and have had them snap in half.
  • I need to add something else to this, for when I go to Heaven.... I pray they serve bacon - ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT.
  • Morning Star Farms Breakfast Patties are my other favorite. LOVE the HOT & SPICY ones. I usually just add one of those to the toast and cottage cheese. Perfect !
  • a piece of toast with a little cottage cheese and chopped tomato. Sprinkled with pepper. My favorite (and easiest) meal of the day.
  • I'm a huge fan of measuring. It's advisable to measure monthly but I measure weekly on my weigh-in day. On weeks that I know I've managed the eating/exercising well, yet the scale doesn't move, the measurements will show progress. There are many weeks where that is the only thing that keeps me motivated. The jeans-fitting…
  • I'm still trying to get past the part about reading weather books for fun. Maybe try some good juicy novels. I personally prefer true crime/murder. At the very least, you will certainly find some fun friends on MFP that will keep you motivated. Good luck to you !
  • LOL... That's what I thought this thread was referring to until I read it. to the OP:.... he does it because he knows it bothers you. Just learn to expect it and try to ignore it as much as possible. And when that doesn't work, learn to give it right back. (I personally like the last option the best)
  • Unless the user learns to modify their poor eating habits, they're only going to eat more. Now, instead of eating a whole pizza, they can eat two whole pizzas !! Yeah this is the answer.
  • SHAME on me !!! What I meant to say was .... WAY TO GO PAPPI !!! Way to kick our butts and show us who's boss. Congratulations !!!!!
  • In a full-out one hour zumba class, my HRM will calculate over 600 cals. The FB will calculate that same hour as maybe 350. I track the activity on the fitbit (using the start and stop function so I know exactly when I started and ended), then I go into my MFP account and overwrite that same time frame with the calories…
  • I have a FitBit Ultra (last year's model) and LOVE it ! They have a new one now called the FitBit One that I am seriously considering upgrading to. They cost $100 but are worth it. I wear mine 24 hrs/day and love that it tracks/syncs automatically with MFP. The new "One" will sync with some smartphones and is water…
  • I prefer first thing Friday morning, in the nude... blah blah blah. But I really hate that the Doctor's appointments (you know.. when they record your weight in the log books) are on some random day like Tuesday at 11:30 am and I have to be fully clothed.... so UNFAIR !!!!
  • Hello Paul. Welcome to MFP. I'll send a friend request. Friends are what makes this work. :)
  • A few things to try: 1) use a smaller plate 2) take your time - slow down. Enjoy what you're eating 3) stop when you're satisfied, not when you're full
  • "weak"ends are the worst for me. But I know this, and I plan for it. I use Friday morning as my weigh-in which helps me. I let myself go a little on the weekends knowing that come Monday I'm back at it full tilt. Not saying my advice is what you need to do but it works for me. I do make a point to get my healthy stuff in…
  • So... even though I didn't do so well in this league I want you all to know that I am the 2012 Champion of my other FF league. Second time champ ! and yes, I'm bragging. Had fun with MFP's league but next year I'll need to be a lot tougher! Team Sassi
  • Just focus on healthy options that you enjoy. Most importantly, take the extra minute to calculate the calories (and/or other nutrients that are important to you). Use a scale/measuring cups etc. and be honest about your portion sizes. Log them. That's the important thing. On some days you'll be discouraged when you…
  • I did WW 12 years ago and lost 30lbs. I maintained most of that loss for 8 years. By that point I was no longer actually logging my points and I would just count them in my head -- big mistake because obviously my portions were getting bigger and bigger and I would think "yeah, that's about 1 point" . Couldn't understand…
  • Do you need any Bengal fans for friends? I'm one !
  • So sorry about your Dad. Wishing you tremendous success in the new year. Similarly, I did quite well on MFP this past year but then let life get in the way. I'm ready to go again. Let's do it.
  • Welcome back! I've been completely MIA from this site for months, and I need to get back to it. Let's do this together.
  • There is nothing "safe" at the food counters at the theaters. Better off to bring your own healthy snacks. And you'll save a ton of money as well. Although, eating safe foods at a theater now seems like the least of our worries. Best to wear a bulletproof vest.
