I should add that I eat egg beaters and turkey bacon about 5-7 times a week. I was never much for eggs or bacon but I needed something to increase my fat and protein as previously my diet was around 85% calories from carbs.

Another benefit of walking (vs jogging) I thought of... You don't hear walkers discussing injuries near as often as joggers.

I'm down 16 pounds since May 7th and have been mostly walking six days a week. I'll substitute a bike ride once or twice a week. Anyone that tells you you can't lose weight, or lose it efficiently, walking is full of it. Pure and simple. Enjoy the time with your son! You'll both be better for the experience.
