Choose better protein meat! Hotdogs and hamburgers are not great choices, choose chicken (not fried!) and turkey instead. Skip the bread too. Eat more fresh veggies. Have a protein shake. Good for you, JConner! I also went cold turkey on soda. It was amazing how I didn't crave suger or sugary food after that. I am at month one so far, but I'll continue to drink water and tea. Thanks for setting such a good example of 5 months!

Ultrameal shakes, especially the mint chocolate one, are tasty with protein and about 150 calories. I have one each morning, but I add chopped up strawberries or a banana too. Blend well! Good luck!

You should check out "made to crave', a christian book that tells the reader that insteading of craving food, alcohol, sugar, tobacco, etc, they should be craving God. I don't know if you are a Christian, but God loves you and wants you to be your best.

Don't have snacks in your house!!!! But realistically, do try to distract yourself, by reading, exercising, gardening, phone a friend, or go online here and chat! I'm trying to 'break' my habit of snacking, and I know it is hard work. Good luck! Let us know how you are doing!

I was drinking 2 2-liter of diet mt dew a day. I stopped 21 days ago. The different in my body is amazing. My skin is not as dry, my energy level has ski-rocketed, and I've dropped a few pounds---just by switching to water. If you absolutely must have a soda, pick one day and have one. Just one.
