I'm just not hungry...is this just a phase that will change or what? I feel like i should be hungry but I'm not at all. advice?

well im trying to eat at the normal times as well. but in the middle of eating lunch or dinner or whatever it maybe i start to feel sick to my stomach.0

If you are not feeling hungry, you might still need to eat. Try smaller, more frequent meals of more protein. Good luck!0

i've been trying that lately, but the only problem is i look at whatever i'm eating or go to the kitchen to try and find something and i'm like nothing looks good..nothing looks appetizing..at all0

I try to eat at my regular times even if I am not hungry. I am trying to decide whether to eat before or after my evening work out. I am always hungry before my work out but never hungry after. But I dont want to go work out on a full stomach.0

I read an article once about slimming and listening to your body. It stated that you should only eat if you are physically hungry and explained how as kids we only came home for food from playing out with friends when we had to eat like NOW. Maybe you should try to listen to your body?? Keep up your fluids though! :flowerforyou:0

Its a vicious cycle, but if you don't keep your calories up, then your body will be comfortable around 1100 calories, and then if you aren't hungry and so you stop eatin 1100 calories then your body will get used to 1000 calories...
Our bodies are AMAZING systems. they counter balance with what ever decision we make.... I GUARANTEE that if you ate 1200-1400 calories for about a week, the next week you will find it super easy to be eating at 1200-1400 calories.
You don't want to under feed your body. and it will adapt to what ever your throw at it.0 -
stress can cause this i had the same prob when i was really busy with work and school and had trouble sleeping too. it disappeared once my vacation started.0

I'm deff drinking a ton of water and stuff. Every now and then a powerade to keep the nutrients ya know? Yeah i was always like that as a kid just eating because im bored, but sense i've been working out a lot i don't do that any more. And the only thing is too im not really hungry before i work out either. I'll eat like some kind of breakfast bar or some piece of fruit just so i'll have something but i don't know. I have a lot of personal things going on too, not sure if that's affecting it too or not.0

This works in theory... BUT after years of abuse, like the majority of people on here, INCLUDING MYSELF lol, we abused our metabolism, we ate when we weren't hungry, which resulted in our bodies telling us okay if your going to feed me I am going to try to burn these calories so that I am hungry, so our metabolism actually sped up.
this works in reverse too, if you under feed yourself meaning under 1200 net calories, your metabolism will slow down to compensate for those calories so it doesn't use them up too quickly.
After all the days months and years that we have abused our system, it has NO IDEA what it should be saying, so for a while you need to ignore your body when it tells you that you are hungry or not hungry, until you get your body back into a regular cycle. So eat every 2-3 hours eat small meals and then pretty soon your body will need that. and then it will start sending correct signals...0 -
Im not as hungry when I work out, but believe me if you dont eat your 1200 cals itll bite you in the butt in a few days and youll be ravenous. Also you live in FL Im not sure what the heat index is doing there but the first few weeks of summer Im not as hungry either because of adjusting to the heat0

it is hott as crap here! it's been like high 90's-100's past few weeks...so this probably does have something to do with it. and i know not eating close to my cals will bite me in the butt because i did weight watchers a bunch of times...but i never had this problem with w.w. but so far i've been dealing w/ this hump for like a week n a 1/2 or so...0

Very likely to be a combination of excercise and heat. We hit the lovely 110s this week. Do you also drink more when its warmer? that plays a role in hunger as well. Did you work out as much when you were doing weight watchers? and were you also eating the same types of food while on that as you eat now?0 -

I think this is one of the reasons staggering your calories might help people.0 -
when i was doing w.w i had spurts of working out, or i was cheerleading at the time. sense i've just recently within the past 4 weeks or so sense i've been on MFP i've been drinking water, wasn't a fan before but now i'm trying to change that. I guess i am eating a bit different sense i've been doing MFP as well.0

Are you low carbing, by any chance? That can wipe out your appetite. If that's the problem then the solution is to include a moderate serving of some complex, low glycemic index carb in most meals, especially breakfast and lunch. Then you'll be more likely to reach your next scheduled meal time with a healthy appetite without putting yourself at too much of a risk of a bad case of the munchies before then.0

I get like this during the summer. I don't want to eat anything, its too hot; 100 degree temperatures and a full belly make me want to hurl. So for three months of the year I basically live off of drinks during the day, and usually I can eat when the sun starts going down and the heat starts to lessen.0
