  • Thank you for taking time to respond. I know, it can be silly because in my heart and in my mind, I knew what you would say..... sometimes it's just good to know that someone else can relate. 3 steps forward, 10 steps back. Isn't that the truth? Pulling out the crutches again - not a bad idea, at all. Thanks! It really is…
  • Anybody? I would really appreciate a little input. Thanks.
  • And, I did! Thanks! ;-) I definitely was treating the 1,200 as my gross calories and wasn't eating the calories that I burned off from exercise. I won't make that mistake again!
  • wkwebby - I don't even remember how 1200 calories became my "amount"..... it seems that MFP did the calculation for me based on my current weight, goal weight and the 8 months in which I'd like to hit that goal. It ends up averaging about 1.5# per week for a loss. You clearly have more knowledge than I do about what to do…
  • You all had such great advice........ yes, I did have a good workout the day before, and I didn't eat back ALL the calories. By the time I get home from work, change clothes, and do the workout, it's 7:00 pm. I didn't even feel hungry then, but I forced myself to eat some leftover stir fry.
  • Good Morning! I'm looking for a few new friends, too - especially to help push me to be more active (it's too easy after work to go home and sit on the couch). Thanks for the invite!
  • This is a great idea! And, I'd like to see us do this each day until Christmas (or beyond).. If we think about it as "just for today", it seems so much less overwhelming! 1. Just for today, I will go for a walk "around the block" (1.25 miles) after work 2. Just for today, I will add some upper body work with weights 3.…
  • Thank you all for responding to my post! I really appreciate it, and I hope that each of you has a great day!
  • Yikes! We hit deer here a lot, too, but I've never had the airbags deploy! Are you in much pain? I'm so sorry to hear about this - please heal well and take care.
  • Ah, the hurdles that I have been jumping for the past 12 days! First, a severe windstorm (70 mph winds) hit our area, knocking out power for 2 days (to my house - others waited another 2 days longer). I cried when I had to throw all my food away from the frig, but the freezer food is okay. Next, my 12-year-old daughter has…
  • That sounds interesting! I need to be more proactive about trying new things, too. I tend to get in a rut and then everything's boring. So THANKS for sharing your new food with us! I'll have to see if my local store carries such a thing (probably not - we're a very small community). But, my next trip to Green Bay is this…
  • The importance of water. I may write my first blog on this topic, but I need to share something scary with you ladies.... My ex-husband's wife, Laura (who I truly care about) just spent 2-1/2 days in the hospital. Last week Thursday, she took her second spin class and pushed herself hard. She isn't much for drinking water,…
  • No forgiveness is necessary! We ALL have days (and weeks) where the motivation just isn't there - that's what we're here for: to give you a gentle nudge or a kick in the butt - whatever it is you need (I usually need the kick. With a size 15 boot. Make that a spiked boot!). So, you want to move your body.... what can you…
  • Hello Everyone! I know it's Wednesday... I weighed myself Monday, but was so disappointed I didn't even want to admit that I hadn't budged. But, after reading all your posts this morning, I realized that I was doing one of my famous "I'm feeling sorry for myself and I'm sure I'm the ONLY one one Earth struggling this week"…
  • I need to take a few moments to say THANK YOU to all of you who responded to my plea yesterday. It was a bad day, but I took a lot of your advice..... I closed my office door and just let a few tears fall, I brushed off the things that I can't control, I drank some extra water (and visited the bath room an extra time or…
  • I have completely lost control over every aspect of my life and at this point, I'd like to just crawl into bed (it's 11:00 a.m. and I'm at work) and cry until I fall asleep. How can I get it back? I'm overwhelmed! When I left home this morning (after over-sleeping by 1-1/2 hours) I promised myself that I would FINALLY take…
  • Whew! I lost 2.4 pounds last week, but what a rollercoaster it was! I've never really weighed myself daily, and still don't know the pros & cons of doing that, but I think it was helpful to me for my first week of eating healthier (and less - much less!). I don't remember what each of my goals were for last week! Eek! The…
  • I just have to share with you something that I did today, that I NEVER would have done before..... I woke up exhausted this a.m. - it's been a long, busy work week and it's been a real challenge to be eating so much less than I normally do. Plus, the scale put me 1# up over yesterday morning (can you say "emotional…
  • Hello there! Is it still okay if I join your group... and your challenge? I'm over 40, needing to lose over 40!!! My name is Christine, I turned 49 earlier this month and I live in Wisconsin with my husband and 12-year-old daughter (from my first marriage). By my calculations, it is 18 weeks until Christmas........ my goal…
