  • Hi there! I'm back on after a couple year hiatus. I just had my second son and am breastfeeding as well. I'm 3 weeks postpartum and still recovering from a Csection. I can't wait to get active again and I want to eat well so the baby does. I'm here to help support and cheer you on!!

  • I used to teach Zumba...in Olathe, no less!! It's an awesome workout and it's fun. Definitely worth a try!!
  • Will do!
  • Hi Nina! I just got this, so sorry such a late reply. I haven't found anyone yet. Yes, when it is warmer it will be easier to get out for a walk/run. Do you belong to a gym?
  • Sunday: 12.9 miles running. That was brutal.
  • Cool, Jay! Maybe we'll run into each other! Especially since we run about the same pace.
  • It'll be my first ever so I just want to finish the whole thing at around an 11:30 avg pace.
  • Is anyone else signed up for the Plaza 10K? It'll be my first 10K. It would be nice to see some friendly faces.
  • It will be super fun! Classes are Mondays at 6:00 and Wednesdays at 5:00. There is a pre-enrollment special if you register by the 18th. Also I'm offering punch cards if you don't want a monthly enrollment, and a Valentine's day punch card special, too.
  • I would say to listen to your therapist. Even though your trainer has worked with competitive athletes and knows his stuff, he is still in the business of making you look good, increasing your performance level, etc. Your therapist is in the business of healing and prevention. Not that your trainer has any ill will. He…
  • I just registered!!! Looking forward to it! Man, that story makes me mad....
  • I have had multiple hip issues due to an overly flexible sacrum and uneven legs. One thing that I noticed when I start to feel pain is using a foam roller on my piriformis muscle and my IT band relieves a lot of it. Also, check your shoes. Make sure you have your gait analyzed so you know you're wearing the right shoe for…
  • I'm 5'3" and I am aiming for 128 right now. I've been 123 and I although I felt great at the time, looking back I looked a little too small, and was eating the same things every day. My body loves to hover around 135. When I was 128 I thought I had a good balance of being able to enjoy eating and was still happy what my…
  • I just got my runners this past spring but my custom orthotics I wear in them are almost a year old. I just scheduled an appt to replace them. I haven't yet used Biofreeze or the heat/cold therapy. I woke up with it how it is now. It wasn't this bad last night. I probably won't be able to do it until my son goes to bed…
  • That sounds like one I've been doing. And it does give me some relief but only while I'm holding the stretch. The pain is more into the hip socket, kind of to the outside of my right butt cheek. I'm afraid I'm gonna be out for this race! I'm hoping to hear otherwise.
  • Yep, just my right hip, the same one I had bursitis in last year. it does feel similar to what it felt like then, but it was way worse last year. There was obviously something wrong. This time, it could be mistaken for a pretty sore muscle, I think. But I won't know til I get to the chiro tomorrow. But what do i do til…
  • I was pressured into eating a PEANUT WORM by some guests that invited us to eat with them after a gig in Busan, S. Korea. If you have never seen one of the nasty things, they're horribly awful looking penile type creatures that float around the live tanks in some restaurants there. I would be horrified every time I saw one…
  • Agreed. Unless you live in a big city with great public transportation and driving isn't necessary, you'll end up being a taxi service. That's why they're called choices. If he was an adult when he lost his license, he chose to do whatever it was to make him lose it. And there's nothing worse than falling for an adult that…
  • Hi Tami. I'm a busy mom, too. I work full-time and am a part-time single mom (the hub is a railroad engineer) to my 2 year old, very active, son. I manage to get to work by 8:00, leave around 4:30, pick up my son, and head to the gym, where I can put him in the kids club while I work out. He used to hate it and would…
  • Hanging on to my 30's at 39. Just signed up for my first 10K and am in better shape than I was in my 20's. I've been on here for over a year and the support is like no other! Just keep at it and don't let your age fool you! Add me if you like.
  • I'd be on the tmill at the gym. It's not looking good. I guess I'm taking another rest day. Thanks, everyone!
  • Definitely tummy ache, bug type. I thought eating lunch would make it better. Not the case. So, skip the run then....
  • I'm still here, too!! Just signed up for the Jeff Taylor 10K on the 14th. Anyone else doing this? Been running pretty regularly on the Tmill ( i just can't push my toddler in the stroller anymore) although I finished 5.5 on the road this past Monday. Also do Zumba on Thursdays. Anyone else go to 24 Hour Fitness? I'm in OP.
