I made a bet with my boyfriend that i could go longer than him without giving in. I refuse to give in unless he does and he wants to quit and he wants me to quit so we are both staying strong on our lil wager so far. :)

Has anyone been here done this who has a better more knowledgeable answer?
-
A year can't be right for everyone who quits because everyone has different things that can affect their ability to run and for how long like weight. At the moment I weigh 290 and a year from now all my weight may not be gone and I would think that with the more I lose along with quitting the better I'll be at any…

So im guessing if i quit smoking i will hit the goal of running faster and longer than if i dont quit. Guess I'll see in the weeks to come after quitting.

thanks

3 more cigarettes until im done with this pack.
-
i wish i would have never started.
-
Has anyone smoked 1-2 packs a day for 20+ years and quit and found the ability to run again?
-
Try harder and try to do activities to stay occupied more.
-
how long did you smoke before you quit? I cant see myself being able to run.
-
I've went 49 hours without a cigarette so far now and the odd thing is im supposed to be craving them more than someone who quit 2 years ago(i think). My opinion is as follows.....you resent your fiance for you having to quit before you were ready and you are holding onto the grudge of that by complaining about wanting to…

I'm not really having that hard of a time not smoking just wondering if theres a way to make breathing easier since it seems to have gotten harder since quitting.
-
Almost 30 hours in and it's getting harder to breathe you would think going that long without smoking would make breathing easier not harder.
-
28 hours now without a cigarette. The time seems to go by sooooooooooo slow.

???????????

I'm not coughing up any black stuff and i didn't the last 2 times i quit for 3.5 months. When is that supposed to start? Oh and 24 hrs and 35 minutes without a cigarette now.

i wish i could sleep but im not used to sleeping alone so i keep getting back up.
-
I thought it would help having my bf out of town since he smokes too but it just seems to be making it worse. I feel like ive been deserted when i need him most. It's like i had the cigs for company and now I have nothing. I know they arent the kind of company I should be wanting but thats how it feels.

Thanks all!

I'm worried about the loose skin too because i have to lose 154lbs to hit my goal weight.

Your body will only use fat stores for a short period when it goes into starvation mode because it is easier to break down muscle and then body organs if you don't keep a healthy number of calories throughout the day then you are losing more of what you need in your body than fat and if all of your muscle is getting torn…

7+ hours without a cigarette so far.

Thanks a lot. Everyone's replies help.

I watched my grandma suffer from emphasema too and she didnt quit until 2 days before she died because she couldnt breathe enough to smoke them. I refuse to hold onto them that long.

Nothing to bug me but my own mind during the days the nicotine is still in me is why I chose now even though I still have 2 unopened packs in the freezer. Will tell my…
