  • Hey there! My long-term goal is to lose at least 100 pounds. I've already lost 60 from eating better & exercise, all while using MFP. It has taken me about 8 months to lose that weight. I started at 284. I was in the same spot as you. I was around 240 when I got pregnant & when it was over, I ended up with a baby & 40…
  • I'm 5'3.5". I started at 284. I wore a snug size 22. I had a body fat analysis done when I started, also. I had 53.9% body fat. I am now at 244.5. I wear a comfortable 16 in the same brand that I wore the 22 in. My current body fat is 46.7%. I still have 100+ pounds to go, but the transformation so far is pretty cool. :-)…

  • My favorite website is www.exrx.net. This page in particular: http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html It will show you a listing of all muscles. For example, click on "Upper Arms" & it will give you each muscle group in the area (triceps & biceps). Under each muscle, it will give you lots of different exercises to do,…
  • Please get out while you still can. He sounds like he will just end up controlling, even if you're the weight he thinks you should be. You can find a man who will love you & find you beautiful at 130 or 230. They're out there. I weigh 80 pounds more now than when I married my husband (kids, etc.). There are pictures on the…
  • I'm not trained in this or anything, but I have read A LOT about this stuff in order to learn the best way to lose weight. In the last 4 weeks, I've lost 9 pounds, so something is right. Everyone is different, so please keep that in mind. You could get very complicated & count your carbs, protein, fat, etc. I've found that…
  • @lsang... 3 months & 39 pounds?? That's awesome!! Great job!
  • @trustinthelord: There is a ton of stuff on this site & I'm sure you're probably feeling overwhelmed by all of the info, the community forums, & the trackers. There's just so much to look at! You just have to jump in & everyone will accept you. This site is amazing... no judgment & tons of encouragement! :-)
  • @dsoto1123: It's not that my husband doesn't want me to do well. It's just not convenient for him that I'm making healthier dinners & get home just a little later because I went to the gym. The funniest part of it, though, was when I was on the floor doing crunches. I said, laughing, "you know, you could get down here with…
  • Well, I don't have any friends that do walk/runs or bicycle. I'm just not into doing one alone. I've told my husband before that I wanted to do one & he questions me on why I would want to do that... deal with the traffic, find parking, pay to walk, deal with the traffic again, etc. It's enough to crush those dreams. lol…
  • It seems like everyone needs a little cheerleading... & a lot of motivation! I'm hoping to stick with this site, as I'm fairly new, also. I got started by looking for a fitness app on my phone so I could track my exercise & my weights/reps (because I'm forgetful). I was looking at the settings on the app & that's what led…
  • Great job on the 14 pounds! Especially 14 in a month!! It seems like you've definitely got challenges (very low calories & absolutely having to work out). Great job so far & I'm sure you'll get back into the workout. It's worth it!
  • I totally understand! I'll be 30 in September. I'd like to at least have 20 pounds off by then, but that might be stretching it!
  • You can always have cheese on a low carb diet! Thank goodness! You can't take away my carbs & cheese!!! lol
  • @ SweetMegz 2 days is a start! Like I said, I've been working out, but still eating whatever & however much of it I wanted. I really just started dieting this morning so I can't even claim to 2 days! lol Why is that friends & family (even those that need to get healthier themselves) just don't understand & can't support…
  • @ Chachita - love the back fat transformation! Back fat sucks!! lol
