Hi Alicia! Welcome to MFP! This site will educate you and change your life! Read the blogs, learn all that you can, and be accountable by documenting everything you eat, and exercise and you WILL reach your goal! Good luck! :)

Thank you for posting! Good to finally know! :)

Very good article! Thanks for sharing Bonnie! I would rather be called crazy than be fat and unhealthy!

I guess it all depends on what you are doing at the gym, and what level of intensity you are doing it? I'm not sure how you calculated your swim, but I use caloriesperhour.com to calulate my workouts. You're never really going to know how accurate it is, but this seems to be working well for me. Good luck, and do whaatever…

Bumpity Bump, Bump! Wow! I was going to suggest my Myoplex bars that I eat everyday, but now see the ThinkThins! I'll check out the Pure Protein line too! Thanks! :)

Hmm....since I've seen so much success on this site, including myself and my boyfriend, I would suggest starting over by looking at your settings/goals. Make sure that you really are calculating correctly; your weight, your BMR, etc and that you have a reasonable daily deficit. Make sure that you are calculating all your…

I know right!? I always, always, ALWAYS give mine to charity. There are so many clothes deposit boxes around, homeless people, etc.

WOOHOO!!!! You look AMAZING! Congratulations! :)

I'm not sure what your schedule allows, but I've always found that working out in the morning is better for me. I get it over and done with and get on with my day. Either that, or do it as soon as you get home, before dinner, before the kids go to bed (if you can). Everytime that I've saved it for the last thing of the…

bumpity bump bump! Looks yummy! Thank you! :)

Sorry to hear your frustration, but you are right! The scale plays an insignificant role in weight loss. Eat healthy foods, watch your caloric intake, maintain your daily deficit, add exercise to your routine, and you will see the inches come off! Your clothes will be bigger, and you will see the difference in the mirror,…

:) You're my kind of eater! Bumpin again! :)

Although I've never done the real thing, when I took Kick-Boxing classes, I've always tone up quite fast! It's really a great workout and burns fat while toning! Have fun!

I think this is a personal preference. Some people need to see the # all the time for motivation, others don't need the visual motivation, but instead go by how the feel, and how their clothes fit, etc. I only weigh in once a month. I don't consider myself on a diet, this is more of a true lifestyle change for me. I'm in…

I agree with KZOsMom! Keep at it, don't worry what the scale says, and just keep going. This is a lifestyle change, eating right, exercising, keeping healthy. You are probably still losing inches and toning, etc. Keep going.:flowerforyou:

Don't get frustrated with the scale because it really doesn't tell the whole story. The true success measurement is how you look/feel, and how your clothes fit! Your measurements and clothes sizes are a better way of knowing if what you are doing is really working. You've heard the "muscle weighs more than fat" theory, I'm…

You can click on her 12 posts under the other account and clearly see the long battle that she has had since 2008. I don't have any answers for her, but I hope someone does? amijay77 Joined Jul 2008 Posts: 12

I'm sorry that so many of us doubted you, but it is only because we've seen so much success on this site. We are all here to help you, please don't give up, this is the best support system you will find. We are all made so differently, and some of will see progress more quickly than others, but the math really does work.…

YUMMY! Now you've got me wanting a taco salad! I'm keeping your recipe! Thanks! :flowerforyou: I eat lots of salad, and put so many different things into it....avacado, fruit, nuts, veggies, etc.....the possibilities are endless! My favorite lunch is my tuna salad since it's very high in protein. Can of albacore tuna…

I'm sorry to hear your frustration :( maybe you are already at your ideal weight?
-
nicely put! many people take this saying so literally...yes a pound of anything = a pound of anything, but I really could care less what the scales says because at 130 I could be flabby and bigger, or at 130 I could be toned/muscular and smaller!
-
Oh! I'm bumpin for all the good recipes! Thanks! :flowerforyou:

sorry, but I have a few, not just one: drinking lots of water, keeping sodium and sugar down, smaller portions, cutting out all processed junk/fast foods, and learning to eat 6 times a day (I used to skip meals all the time thinking it was better! HA!) :blushing:

While I would like to see what some of the long-timers say, I would think that this site will have taught us what to do. Although I've always incorporated exercise into my life, I have learned alot in terms of nutrtional values and what not to eat, etc. Geez, when I look back to my pre-MFP days, and what I was…

LOL...this is SO true! I think this is why so many women gain weight after they are married too. Husbands can't understand why, but THERE it is! We are HAPPY!  Thankfully, this site has shown me how to be happy AND healthy!
