In 2008 I got my motivation from a horrible photo my Mum took of me in Broome. It was when I realised I was fat(ter than I should be at 18) Put more weight on again, saw some photos and went... woops yep I got fat again.. I get my motivation to lose weight from 'fat photos' not from 'skinny photos'.

Depends why you take them.. If you have a sore ankle, unless you need to, like for an important event, no, the pain is 'nature's way' of telling you to ease up so you can heal. If you have a headache and want to work out, I don't see any short term problems..

If you find it difficult to eat enough, start with small snacks, as you continue you may find your metabolism speeds up and you need to eat more often. That's what I found. Also calorie dense foods are good, like avocado, peanut butter, nuts..

There are two 'rules'. Try to eat at least your BMR, regardless of what the green number is. Have your daily deficit (green number) below 1000. I find that if my deficit is 1000 for a few days in a row I feel run down. So if I have a high deficit one day, I aim for a lower one the next (closer to 500). Example My BMR is…

Do you run regularly? If it was your first day into it, I think you just overdid it. But great job on the warm up cool down. Might just need to let your body adjust. Start small and work your way up. You can also feel sick if you eat to soon before or after exercising or not soon enough before/ after.

If I didn't eat after 6pm.. I would be seriously low on calories, I would feel sick everyday.. I play sports between 4.30-9.30 and have to eat around my schedule...

Some high burn are over a long period of time... i.e. a day at the zoo or whatever...
-
Agreed.

If it incapacitates(sp?) you or doesn't recover within a few days, you've probably overdone it.. If I do a hard workout and am not sore... I consider it a good thing haha Note: not a mass builder... but just my experiences..
-
Yay, it's working... more FB friends :) I must STEP up my game haha (pun definitely intended!)

I firmly believe you should eat at least your BMR (calculated in tools). It makes logical sense to me.. Based on your age and weight loss goal, (similar to mine) I'd search for the group "the olivia method" Read it and see if it makes sense to you. Works for me, that's after trying several different ways. Find what works…

All the time.. I try to let myself have a day off instead of spurging the other uncontrollable way though... Or indulging my 'cravings' with a small treat rather than binging when I'm really craving it works for me.. makes it a part of my life rather than a diet

Hormones... I think, from memory, it can be caused by a dip in estrogen.. I'm 22 and I get them from time to time... it's mostly hormones, but apparently foods can cause them, or being in the heat.. or switching from hot to cold environments.. Unless it is severe or annoyingly ongoing, it's nothing to worry about **Not a…

Everyone is different, do you eat big meals or snack much? Do you eat calorie dense food? I feel really full but don't get enough calories that I need for the exercise I do when I eat lower calorie dense food, i.e. veggies don't have many cal's for their volume compared to cheese...

Oh, and I do regular exercise - so theoretically I shouldn't be backed up...

I don't have time to read it ALL But usually a coffee makes me go instantly :p now.. nothing! dr even said cut caffeine down (wasn't much to begin with) I drink plenty of water, get plenty of fiber.. now taking movicol (bulker) stimulant laxitives can help, but I don't want to take those anymore, they aren't good long…

You could log your steps in the notes section...?

I agree on both, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/409954-welcome-the-rules - might make more sense to you?
-
Not going to be much help, but larger meat portions?
-
If you feel drained and hungry all the time, increase if. If you put on weight, decrease it. Hit a plateau, try increasing it... You just gotta fiddle til you find what works for you.. Try this: works really well for me, it makes more logical sense to me. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/409954-welcome-the-rules

If it's fruit and you aren't eating a truck load, don't worry about it

I was going to comment.. but my name is Rachel too... I have a mug from my Nana and Pap saying that Rachel means "Innocent as a Lamb.." Or something like that :p

This is the only 'method' I have stuck to. It works! It's simple! But, you cannot maintain a 1000 calorie deficit every day if you are on the 'smaller' side. I'm 169cm, 72.6kg, 29.2% BF and I can only go one or two days with 1000 cal remaining! Food is fuel, the type of exercise I do burns a lot of food energy rather than…

I wish everything came with labels haha

I've never heard of it, but it sounds awesome!!
-
Yeah, take half, see how much weight you lose in the next nine months lol!!

I find it amusing that there wasn't really a DRINK WATER in the replies haha

Start with a multi and fish oil, protein after workout. Order online - so much cheaper :p

We get that you are pro running, but it is possible to burn a lot in swimming, it's also not just about the calories when it comes to swimming, you will get a 'better workout' from swimming if you have different aims and goals. You get a better tone in swimming (generally speaking) and it isn't as harsh on your body. Very…

I don't have PCOS, but if I did and wanted to lose weight, I'd find a doctor I'm really comfortable to talk to regularly for help.
