"Ultimate Food Rules"
Eat food. This seems like the most simple of the three dot points, yet in my opinion it is the most complex. Today we have supermarkets that are at least 10 aisles wide, filled with products that we identify as food. Yet are they really? Pollan calls any food or processed product designed in a laboratory, as “foodlike…

Bumping the Olivia Method
Just wanted to bump this method as it seems a lot of people have recently worked out that eating more can help to lose weight. I personally always eat above my BMR and am starting to work towards maintenance using the Olivia Method. I find it really simple and much easier to track where I'm at deficit-wise.…

Sore neck during ab exercises?
Hi, I've pretty much always had this issue and have asked several people how to prevent it, and what am I doing wrong, but I don't know what to do about it. Whenever doing crunches, sit ups etc, my muscles at the front of my neck always hurt from holding my head up. Any tips? I tried pressing my tongue against the roof on…

Cheat/Free Day - Yes and No.
Q&A with Jillian Michaels. For anyone still battling with the idea. Q: What is your opinion on "cheat days"? My friend's trainer says it's okay to have one cheat day during the week (as long as you remain on track the rest of the time). But I've been struggling with my weight for years now, and I'm wondering if it's…

T2 (Tea Too) Nutritional Information - Various Teas
I've been drinking a few different types of tea, all bought loose leaf from T2, unlike lipton, twinings etc, there's no NI on the package. I haven't been able to find any NI anywhere, what's in the database pretty much all have no calories. Being that they are probably only a few calories anyway, is it even worth the…

Carbs/Protein/Fat %'s
Any advice on what these can be set to. My aim is to increase fitness and performance, tone (lose fat, not opposed to gaining muscle), I compete in swimming and netball, I am starting up running as well. I usually go over my protein and/or carbs, with the %'s set by MFP. Any constructive or positive thoughts?

Max Heart Rate o_O
Hey MFP's According to the equation of 220 - age, my Max Heart Rate is 220 - 22 = 198 Last night my Polar FT60 told me that my heart rate got up to 200 in a netball game and I wasn't about to die or anything, it wasn't easy, but it wasn't REALLY REALLY hard, I did work hard but not my absolute hardest. Clearly my max heart…

Yay for BRAS
I went to my local Triumph store to scope out some cool new sports bras. While I was there I got the lady to check the sizing of the bras I bought quite recently (before weight loss though) to check that they aren't too big. YAY, they're not too big, just gone from the bigger end of the size to the smaller end. She said if…

My dad used to have a little stand type thing that he could lock his back wheel of his bike into to lift it off the ground so that it could be used stationary. It had different resistances too. Do you know what it is called? TIA

What do you think?
I'm thinking about doing caloric cycling.. A loss of 1lb per week translates to an average of 1440cal per day. What do you think of doing three medium days at 1400, 2 high days at 1700 and 2 low days at 1240?

One negative, a million positives..
I  that I'm losing weight and getting fit, there are so many benefits and I love it and myself so much, and I can cope with smaller boobies, but I hate that they are a bit "saggy" because the skin is still the same, with less fat in them and I can see all the stretch marks from the now excess skin.. I will get used…

Why don't people eat their exercise calories?
The whole aim of having a goal calorie limit and earning calories, is that you eat them? I don't understand, and I know that I'm not perfect at eating all of mine, but some days I go over, so it kind of balances out. If I'm exercising, I need to put more fuel in my body, don't other people?

NSV on my bike :)
Today when I was riding to swimming, I noticed that my legs look better, then I realized that I went up a hill in a much higher gear and with less effort than last time I rode there, which was last swimming season, so march this year. Felt good :) Also decided my pants are officially too big and will donate them. :D
