  • Thank you all for your support and advices. I had no idea about podcast or Larger Losers group. I'll make sure to check them out. And yes I have a food scale so I can definitely start with that. You are right about doing things gradually. I know this is a long marathon. Luckily, I have worked on this for a while. I haven't…
  • I am almost at the end of stage 1. So far so good! I started at every 3 days and now do it every 2 days. Was sore the first 2-3 times when the movements were new to my body. We have a woman room so there was no need to be intimidated by guys... but now, I lift more than the available weight in the woman room, so on…
  • I agree with you, emotionally healthy guys are rare... I agree sometimes dating is daunting but what would be the alternative? Staying alone all your life? I am there... it's overrated for sure... ;-)
  • you can add me if you want! Have already lost 50 lb but still have another 50 (minimum) to lose.
  • Looks like you already have 35km to run... getting close to the marathon! you can do this !
  • so how are we supposed to measure it? I have been having the same problem. Thought waist has to be smallest spot, hip the widest? Am I supposed to remember where I measured a year ago :-o ????
  • yes you can, no you shouldn't. Spreading your germ at the gym is really not a good idea, but if you can do something at home or a walk outside, go for it, Just be gentle on your body, don't do anything strenuous.

  • Sounds like depression to me.... Looking at your picture... I hardly see where you are fat... I don't know what's your ideal weight, since we don't have your size or any other measurement... but you don't seem far off... And I agree with everyone else... eating less than 1000 calories... that's abuse! you are killing…
  • nothing wrong with that... I cut people regularly just because they are not on MFP anymore or not enough. Some come 3 days, then not for 2 months, then 3 days... They can do whatever they want, but I want to be surrounded with people that are motivated to change. Whether they comment on my page or not has less impact,…
  • No be persistent. I upped my calories, saw first a gain (about 2 lb) then finally went down. Took almost 3 weeks before it started to go down (and still is now). Any change takes time. Your body has to figure out what to do....
  • It's hard to tell since you don't give us much details about how long you have been at it, how much you weight, and what's in your diary. From the weight you have to lose... I am guessing you are eating way less than you should. I'm guessing something around 1600-1800 should work better for you and you should still lose…

  • Totally agree with what was said. I could run 30 minutes with the Wii but couldn't do more than a minute outside. Thing is running in one place (and treadmill is essentially similar) doesn't take as much effort as moving forward. You really have to move the weight in a certain direction... center of gravity is different. I…
  • I did and for me it wasn't a diet, but a lifestyle change. The beginning is hard because it targets our addiction to carb. After a few days it calms down and I didn't crave carbs anymore. I read the book, there is no miracle in it, just things that makes sense and it give you idea of recipe and of menu for every day. I am…
  • Great attitude let us know what your physician says...
  • Are you guys serious? I don't even know which post to respond to... Some of those posts are so judgmental and rude! - You don't like a stranger on the treadmill next to you? Then stay home and don't come to a "public" gym - You think the other person isn't working hard enough? Should put more incline, go faster, not…
  • 86% saturated fat. Why would anyone want to eat that....
  • I am not sure what it is, but in general, you better listen to your body. Pain is the signal that your body gives you to say it needs rest. I wouldn't add any more walking until it heals. If you just pull your hamstring, you will be fine in a day or two. If you hurt a tendon, pain will not disappear in a few days and it…
  • 0 but hey I am working on it....
  • C25K works. I just finished the program. I had to redo week 1 and 2, since I was out of shape, but the rest went fine. Now I am trying to built on speed, since I only do about 1.7miles in 30min. Try it, it is amazing. I never thought when I started and could barely do 1 minute that I can one day do 30!
  • Took me a little over a week to break carb addiction. That was all carb those, not just sugar.
  • fruit, jello, yoghurt or any sugar free stuff... although... I personally don't recommend those sugar free things since sugar is replaced by chemicals... If you can indulge with restrain then just have a candy now and then.
  • Yes I am doing Couch to 5 K and it is basically that. Look at it and follow it: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml I take water, not that I dehydrate so fast, but mostly because when it is cold, my throat hurts if I don't drink since I breath with my mouth. Of course it really depends how much you sweat. I…
  • Depends what the cracking is due to. In my case, my knee caps are too high, therefore go out of alignment when it is bend and the cracking is due to loose cartilages from the rubbing of the knee cap. Anyhow, there are exercise for this. Orthopedic surgeon told me to avoid lunges, squat, even bicycle unless the seat is high…
  • Add me if you want. Good luck!
  • They may not be overweight but there is more to healthy food than weight. I have friends that are diabetic and are thinner than me. There is no telling how someone's artery looks like until it is too late. If they don't want to improve their diet, respect their choice and stick to what works for you. It is tough because on…
  • It is hard to answer since we don't know your weight/size, etc. As far as we know, they may have legitimate concerns... They are unfortunately some people out there that goes from being overweight to not eat at all so the last thing we want to do is tell an anorexic person not too eat... That said, I agree with the…
