All about routine for me. Starting the habit was VERY difficult. Then I was out of it for several month after foot surgery... Then starting the habit again was VERY difficult. Here are some things that helped me get into it (and back into it). 1. I didn't want to be a rude. The more times I hit the snooze, the more times I…

Here's a good one: http://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Point-Performance-Revolutionary-Roller/dp/B006GUCAFG/ref=sr_1_13?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1368023189&sr=1-13 [/quote] ^^This is my favorite as well. I actually have the shorter one... Surprise, length is a nice feature. :)

If you want to log... I tend to use my camera on my phone. I simply take a pic of what I'm about to consume and can log it later (I do this at independent restaurants too when I have to make a guess at calories). This way I still keep track. It keeps me mindful or what is going in my mouth, but I don't sweat it. Enjoy the…

^^ This. Better to fulfill the calories, but not for a simply splurge.

Unsweet tea. Also, my mom always carries Mio (or Crystal light also has a version) to add to water. They come in all sorts of tasty flavors.

After I started MFP I had a check out line encounter with a similar snob. He says to me "great choices!"

I use real 100% Pure Maple Syrup. The taste is so much richer that in doesn't take drowning it. I know that it is healthy and close to nature. Used in moderation. Besides if I am splurging for pancakes, waffles or french toast... I'm going all the way. My philosophy is there are certain foods that real is better any day,…

Whatever the reason he is doing this, I would make the suggesting that you be proactive. Know ahead of time that he will do this and don't let it take you by surprise. For me it is surprises that make the worst diet days. If I know junk food is coming I plan ahead. So have a plan. Don't be hungry when you come home from…

You go to dinner at your parents' and your mom already left out every food container on the cabinet as she knows you will just dig it out of the trash or spend the entire meal searching for the ingredients on your phone. :) Or... you become immune to your puppy's best begging face because, you logged the calories... I'm…

They now sell shirts that are for swimming and have the added protection of sunscreen. I would suggest you look into that for a public pool appearance. I know several in my family that wear these to the beach so that they are not constantly having to chase the kids down and slather them with lotion.…

Yeah... I would first be completely shocked that they dogs had not eaten it before. And then would call one of the dogs over, point, and watch that cracker meet its doom.

Stunning! Looking great.

Absolutely this! ^^ I like the suggestions I see of lower impact stuff like yoga and lifting. Great success story! I love picture books. :)

Well... What was the final decision? Nanner or chocolat?

I did get a copy of this and have been reading it. I'm thinking this is a great place to start. Thank you to everyone that chimed in. Great ideas.

Not a treadmill Noob... just want to say. I very much like my treadmill!!!!! Wouldn't run or walk regularly without it. You have picked a fantastic goal. Celebrate each mile logged under your feet. Helpful tips to stay motivated... (as I do confess Treadmill gets a bit monotonous) 1. Tunes or TV. My preference is movies…

LOVE Google calendar for this. My husband has one that is shared with me and mine with him. You can also create one for each of the kiddos (and the dog if necessary). Each color gets its own color and events can be easily shared and copied from calendar to calendar. I'm the same way. I have tons of things going on in my…

Sugary kids cereal with milk. I could eat bowl, after bowl, after bowl. Takes me back to childhood.

One special day is something that I would chalk up - but no more than once a week. Otherwise... I hit the gym (I know... you have a busy schedule) or I plan ahead. All veggie lunch, protein bar (watch the calories). Also... check out the menu beforehand. It does look like you have done this, but you may want to scope out…

Love: Hiking, bike riding (leisure), yoga, dancing. Do because it is time effective and oh so convient on the treadmill rain or shine: run.

Me! As long as it doesn't interfere with my water intake... I'm good. I need something with Caffene in it about mid day... and Oh do I like my Coke Zero!!

My mom is also my saboteur... She loves to tell me that I am overweight and point out that I should lose it but then in the next breath tells be I'm either eating too much or too little or running???? that could hurt your female parts, women are not supposed to run... but they when I told them that I would not be running…

In general... they are greeted with a "hello, poopers, how was your day?" So... pooper. Dodger (aka The Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist), will sometimes get a "punk" or "dude, what were you thinking?" when he has been particularly mischieveous. Miriam on the other hand these days has begun to earn the title of "grumpy old…

I also, when asked, would say I wanted to be a fish when I grew up. It seems completely logical to me. I do SCUBA dive... so as close as I can get until my gills come in.
