  • My girlfriend, who is a physician’s assistant, says that there is a lot of fluctuation due to water weight from day to day. Once a week, and first thing in the morning (after B.M.) is more accurate I think.
  • This always amazes me about some women. Speaking as a man, breast size doesn’t matter. Fitness always looks good on women. And often unfit women are beautiful. I say stick with what God gave you. If we get fit and healthy we’ll feel better physically and mentally.
  • That must’ve taken a lot of hard work.
  • people who say fusstrated.
  • I already felt full. I need to work on the use of food for comfort.

  • Fitness is always attractive but it is the right personality that one wants to marry.
  • I heard Dr. Drew Pinsky say that the HABIT of exercising more just so that you can overeat is a type of bulimia. I Googled this: http://www.your-bulimia-recovery.com/exercise-bulimia.html
  • 1 ounce of Pirate's Booty is about 36 puffs. I just weighed them on a postal scale.
  • Good point. When somebody gave me a pecan coffeecake to take home when I left their party I discovered that a raw pecan and dried apricot activated the same taste sensation as eating the coffeecake! Weird huh?

  • I think the best thing to do is keep recording what you eat even if it is crap. The awareness of the amount of calories, fat, and lack of fiber or potassium I am putting (or not putting) into my body has helped me to think differently about food. It is very hard to change eating habits. I am bummed about the smaller amount…

  • sorry could not delete
  • I had a trainer at a health club tell me that I should do cardio after weights. 5-10 min. of cardio in the beginning is ok for warm up though. He said that it takes 15 min. of exercise before your body starts to burn fat. So if you do your cardio last you will burn more fat calories, according to him.
  • I always keep a tupperware container of cut-up veggies in the fridge and my favorite hummous on hand for dipping; a mixture of baby carrots, grape tomatoes, celery, and broccoli. It is handy and the hummous makes it yummy. Mentally it also reminds me of eating french fries and dipping them into ketchup, so it sort of…
  • Remember ladies, only women want or think they should have skinny legs. Guys (at least me anyway) love a curvy, shapely leg. An athletic leg will always look good. Just don't go squatting or leg pressing with heavy poundages like a weightlifter or body builder. Swim or walk or jog for your legs. Nothing wrong with a little…
  • It takes me 2 quarts of water to make a batch. I too count it as water but I know it is not "pure" water. What if, hypothetically, you drank 8 glasses of pure water and separately consumed the Crystal Light some other way (gak!). Why would combining water and Crystal light negate tallying your water consumption?:drinker:
  • Bored? Try your favorite raw veggies to dip in your favorite hummus. I like to throw in a couple chips of some kind as I eat the veggies and it feels like I'm totally junking out. However I am primarily eating my much needed raw vegetables and only consuming a bout 10-15 chips.
  • Besides boxers and wrestlers trying to meet a weight class, I don't think athletes fuss over body weight. If you are fit, healthy, and look good, why be obsessive about 2 lousy pounds? Your body weight probably fluctuates a pound or two depending on the time of day you weigh yourself anyway. Make fitness goals if you need…
  • I also do not need to drink Diet Coke as a brand but I do like diet cola of any sort. Diet Rite cola tastes great and contains neither caffeine nor sodium. Jewel Food Stores in Chicago sells SuperChill which is their house brand, which also is a Safeway brand I think. I like that as well and that contains no sodium either…
  • Okay, so what's wrong with a zero calorie soda? A regular soda has 150 calories per can.
  • Yes, it's great. I love having the vitamin and mineral read out at the end of the day. But I miss the decimal portion control instead of the fractions so I can be more exact.

  • Isn't there a water toxicity level. My friend once got really sick by "over drinking" the way she over eats.:drinker:
  • I'd think I would have started celebrating at 131 pounds lost. You did something increadible. You rock and are a role model for us all:drinker: Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Food Diary
  • I don't understand that deficit part. So I can go up to 1000 calories over one day and not gain weight? (which I did today because it was my girlfriend's birthday- I indulged in too much food and cake)
  • The reason one must stay close to their calorie goal for the weight they want to be is to get the body to sustain on that many calories for that weight. If I go over the calories allotted, the calories will be stored as fat. If I go under the calories allotted, the body's self protective starvation defense is activated,…

  • It doesn't sound right to still eat so much but apparently you have to train your body gradually. Indeed if you just all of the sudden stop or severely reduce your caloric intake, your body doesn't know that you are on a "diet". It doesn't know what a "diet" is. It sees that there is a sudden change and works to keep your…
  • It's a life long thing isn't it? Now that I am looking at how many calories things are and how much or little exercise calories I have earned, I just can't ever go back to those eating habits I used to have. Maybe indulging once in a while, but this is a whole new way of life, right?. It is good you are establishing good…
  • Nuts! That is... snack on your favorite nuts. Deluxe mixed is my favorite. Have you ever tried French or Italian bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil? Healthier than butter but oh so caloric. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
