Here is my update from yesterday: SW: 141.6 CW: 128.4 It's always so hard to tell if I'm doing my measurements in a consistent manner but I lost an inch in my waist and in my abdomen. Mental shift required.

Okay... I haven't stepped on the scale all week... going to do a check in tomorrow. I am forcing myself to not exercise today. I have a Groupon for Bikram Yoga and have been doing it everyday with a few doubles in there. I really like it and want to maximize my deal (since I won't pay the regular prices it... at least not…

Hi Cody! Welcome to the group. I am excited to hear about your journey! Have you read the Starch Solution? NO biggie if you haven't but it is a great book. Also, you should check out his website. He has some great free resources that will help with the transition. :)

Sounds like you have an amazing plan in place! I'm enjoying your journey (hopefully you are too!). :)

Share away! I love to learn new things and to explore these topics. I've actually created a word document where I cut and past things from the forum that I want to easily find again.

You're talking specifically about the RMR formula here, yes? So I think I am going to take that number with a grain of salt.
-
So this is what the sheet says... This bodpod is associated with www.cosmed.com Test profile: the density model is listed as Siri the thoracic gas volume model is listed as Predicted The body fat rating table has the following asterisk: Applies to adults ages 18 and older. based on information from the American College of…

It's new for me! The hardest part is focusing that long... Sounds like valid test though. full sheet of paper I will have to double check the paper when I get home to confirm but I remember it had RMR as well as a box with TDEE at four different activity levels. The guy asked me how much I worked out but that was it. I…

That's awesome! Congrats. I went vegan after FOKs as well. And like you, it was junk food vegan. I am trying to make the switch now to the MacDougall program. I was doing Fuhrman's for awhile but it struggled mentally with it. With the starch solution, I find that it's difficult for me to wrap my head around that all that…

I noticed you entered a field for a body composition scale or handheld device for bf. Any recommendations for how best to use the composition scale for accuracy? I have one but I don't ever use it.

How do I implement the correction factor in the future? Agreed on the truthful eye.... I definitely want to build more muscle. I will lower my deficit and for the 24hours after lifting I will eat as close to TDEE as possible. Interesting... I didn't know this! So say when my LBM gets to 93 I take 17.919*93 = 1,666 to be my…

OK. I got the bodpod estimate today and it really threw me for a loop. I was thinking I would be around 28... Bodpod: 31.6 u.s. navy circumference method: 28.89 (from spreadsheet) covert bailey method: 27.13 (from spreadsheet) Also, not sure of what to make of the discrepancy between my RMR that i go through a breathing…

I did not know that... thank you! I'm not considering if I even want to post them... feeling a little too exposed in this cyber crazy world...

tape measure measurements i can do. the calipers might be trickier because i might not have an assistant on hand...

Apparently getting pictures up here is a bust... but that's okay. Big news: Bod Pod tomorrow!! ;) Have a great week everyone!

Based on this statement... I am only going to add activities to one section or the other rather than a combination of the two. And, only add what is above the base level given for sedentary. I will probably just add stuff to the exercise or consistent activity because the walking I do at work is not in the job but rather…
-
For the activity calculator on simple set up there are two sections. 1. Daily activity during a 40 hour work week that is more than just a desk-job sitting this is hours just during the work week?? 2. Exercise or consistent daily activity that applies this is minutes over a seven day period?? I stand a lot for my job so…

i can do individual web links for the pictures but that is kind of lame, no? plus on the page it has options for downloading which I don't want. grrr

This made a difference for me! I'm back at 7 ft tall. :) What would be the implications of this>> I am not there yet clearly because my fitbit height was adjusted back not to far from my starting point in this journey.
-
so what did I do wrong... geez... i'm assuming no one else can see these. I did: I didn't put any spaces in it. thoughts?

The first set of pics are from early September 2013. And please forgive a little bit of the crack... This is the second set from 11/1/13. Thing I love... my butt is growing! Thing I want to work on... back!

I went to adjust my fitbit height again based on the lower weight from a few days ago and it won't allow for any adjustment above 9 feet. Do i just leave it at the max? Also, I manually entered my stride length when I first got the fitbit but does that need to be redetermined each time i adjust the height? I can't imagine…
-
Thanks... I might go try it tonight... see how i'm feeling. one question... which tab on the spreadsheet are you using for your TDEE calculation? Do you stick with simple set up or go beyond?
-
The pictures a great again! Thanks of posting... I need to find the instructions again!! Also... happy to hear your knee is normal again. Yippee!
-
Eat to Live has that philosophy. It started with a book by Dr. Fuhrman.
-
Awesome! I am really focusing on the same thing in terms of eating style. It's great. I too can become obsessive...
-
Love learning new things!
-
I definitely agree with the point here about over-treatment....
-
Your progress is definitely noticeable in the hips and quads area. They are much smoother!
-
thanks! Great idea!
