Hi ladies!! Wanted to check in  My baby has been sick and we were in the hospital with him for a few day, but he is doing well now  Trying to get back on track after being MIA for a while... also gained 2 pounds from the hospital food. Hoping spring brings better things!

WOW!!! Congrats to you!!!!! :flowerforyou: You must be working really hard... hope the reward of that 20 lb. loss is making you smile

Totally agree!! FC is an inspiration and always has thoughtful and insightful responses. We are all lucky to have her

Loved my prostiboots til they gave me hooker-bunions, haha  Now I have to wear sensible shoes

I think that yummy low-fat salads and smoothies are great ways to get fruits and veggies into your diet. I like to make my smoothies with some low fat yogurt, a little fat-free soy milk (just a little, cause of the questions regarding soy milk being okay for women), and frozen strawberries and raspberries. MMMMM :drinker:

sushi!!! PC or Mac?

I like sugar. I don't over-use it, but I hate Splenda and other sugar substitutes. I use Sugar in the Raw, and I use it sparingly (a little on my oatmeal, a little in my tea sometimes), but for some reason I feel like I'm being "bad" and that this sugar thing makes me unhealthy. Any thoughts?

Now  puppy or kitten?

oh yes... i had this when I had GERD. It's called a Globus Sensation or Globus Reaction. You should definitely have it looked at by an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist cause it can lead to problems later if left untreated. Good luck

Well, first of all... good for you for going over on healthy stuff :flowerforyou: I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that it's far better for you to go over by eating something moderately healthy than by having a Snickers bar. And if it's only 200 calories, it will probably just slow down the momentum of weight loss a bit...…

You guys are wonderful  Thank you so much for the support and advice! I haven't been drinking enough water, so that's goal # 1 for today. And I'm gonna get on my Gazelle as soon as I post this (I know... it's kinda cheesy, but I couldn't afford an elliptical, haha). Thank you all so much... I feel better

So I wasn't seeing real results after 3 weeks of hard work (gained back what I had lost, even though I was strict with my calories)... and so I totally fell off the wagon for 2 days. I didn't even bother to record my food diary yesterday or the day before. I'm sure I went over my calories. I didn't go CRAZY with food, but…

You wear that little black dress! Then take a picture of yourself in it and put it up in your kitchen, too... might as well see the fruits of your labor when you go into your kitchen. You can do it!!! Best of luck :flowerforyou:

I miss McDonald's french fries. A friend of mine took a nutrition class a few years ago and learned some scary facts about these little delights, so I've sworn them off for years now. But yummmmmm! I also haven't eaten beef in many years, but a cheeseburger sure would go nicely with those fries

I was given the same advice... eat more. So today I tried to eat more calories than I have been. It felt really counterintuitive to do this, but I guess I understand the logic behind it. We'll see... I'll keep you posted  Funny thing is, I used to be so thin that I couldn't gain weight if I tried. Now at 130ish, I…

Yep... me too!! I've been so strict with following my calories and I lost the first 2 weeks. Now it's week 3 and I gained! I can't figure out why, since I am doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. I've heard that it's difficult to lose when you only have 10 or 15 to lose... maybe that's a factor?

Hi  Welcome!! I'm also 32... it's al lot harder to stay in shape and keep the weight off now that we are in our thirties, isn't it? Here's wishing you all the best in your weight loss journey :flowerforyou:

Hello and welcome!!! You will love it here! Best of luck to you!

I'm so sorry for your loss  Last year, I had to have my 18 and my 19 year old kitties put to sleep. The pain was unbearable. I have a new little calico kitty now, and whenever I take her to the vet, I get teary because it is the same vet where my other kitties had to be put to sleep. The pain doesn't go away, but as…

Oh noooo.... please don't watch those videos as inspiration. Most of them are from "pro-ana" sites and people who promote anorexia. I think you need to evaluate what your ultimate goal is... and if it's better health, then becoming anorexic-looking thin is not your answer. These girls are mostly very unhealthy and are…

Wow!! Congrats on your progress  Isn't it surprising how our bodies can become so much stronger and healthier in a relatively small amount of time? It makes you want to keep up the effort. Best of luck... sounds like you're off to a great start!! :flowerforyou:

Well, you have your work cut out for you  You can do this... you clearly WANT it, and you are part of a community that will provide you with the tools and support you need to get there. One step, one pound, at a time... and with every one, you will feel a little jolt of pride and self-esteem come back. You can do…

You should be careful though, especially if there is a family history of Glaucoma, as drinking too much water at one time can cause an increase in the intraocular pressure in your eye. This can be dangerous.

I'm sorry you haven't gotten the support and encouragement that you were looking for :( I have definitely heard of people having this problem before... even having to buy clothes one size bigger at the beginning of a weight-loss program. Seems so counter-intuitive. Could it be water retention or added muscle? How does your…

Good job and what you have done so far!! :flowerforyou: I think a pound a week is normal and a good thing to aim for. That would mean you had a 500 calorie reduction (either in eating fewer cals or burning more) per day to equal 3500 cals a week, which is one pound. I say congrats to you!!

Hey  Welcome... and best of luck on your journey to health and fitness!
