Awwww cute!! The only occasion where gaining 200lbs is a victory! Congratulations! MFP has unintentionally expanded into a match-making site. Maybe they'll make a commercial...like the farmer's one...lol

I was a runner during my teens, but then I became a couch potatoe for more than a decade, starting and stopping exercise plans and doing fad diets. I started exercising last September on the elliptical, wishing that I could run but in my mind it was something I couldn't do anymore. I never thought I would get to a point…

You look great! Cute suit!!!
-
I was wondering the same thing. Awesome that it worked for you either way!
-
This is just a suggestion based on the information you provided and my quick glance at your diary. If you've been doing the exact same thing for the last year as far as exercise and it looks like you eat basically the same foods every day, it might be possible that your body has reached a sort of homeostasis and has no…

My running shoes are Nike Flex 2013 that sell for $80 at places like Foot Locker and Finish Line. I use to have knee pain when I ran...now I don't. The best part is that they are SO lightweight its like they're not there, my feet NEVER sweat because they breathe a lot (I feel the air coming in through the top and sides…

Wow, I'm glad I looked into this. I've been screwing up big time, depriving my poor body of protein. I'm sorry, body. I'll do better.

After reading this thread, I got curious about my own protein intake. Looking back at my diary, it is clear that I am not getting enough protein. I frequently have between 10 and 40 g of protein left, even though I've met or exceeded my calories. With that said, is there a powder that someone would recommend?

Awesome!! I'm always looking for more friends. I'm active on MFP and log everything. My diary is visible to my friends. Feel free to add me!

I second this. I also wasn't buying into the whole "clean eating" thing until I tried it. When I lost 2.5 lbs and another inch off my waist in 1 week of trying it, I kinda went ---->

I'm running my first 5k in September! I would also love friends who are runners because this is something I will continue to do and try to improve! Seeing others that have accomplished goals that I have set is inspirational. Add me!

Ditto. The Power of a Praying Wife is also a great book. Also, seek counseling. I'm a licensed counselor and I know first-hand the issues that couples deal with because I'm married AND because of my profession. If he won't go with you, go by yourself. And last but not least, exercise. Things can become 100 times easier to…

My whole life changed when, in my mind, a "cheat" became a "treat". The "diet" became my "lifestyle". When I was on a diet, I punished myself and gave up when I cheated. Cheating is for dieters. People with a healthy lifestyle have "treats". When I realized that this is a lifestyle change and not a diet, my entire…

I say treat it like everything else...in moderation. Enjoy your diet soda every now then, but if you feel it is affecting you negatively, cut back. I personally love Dr Pepper 10, but I can't drink it past 7 at night because it'll keep me awake at night.

Anyone can add me, I'm always looking for new friends that are active MFP users.

Lazy was a habit of mine for an entire decade. I had to start small and they eventually became big. But really it's true what the others are saying, you have to start by moving. There's no better time like the present. Also, think positively instead of negatively. An active person can talk themselves into being lazy if…

You should stop chore-hogging! That's selfish.

Yup, this movie put me to sleep. My 6 year old loves it.
-
mandi - yes if I were a guy
-
Holy cow yes! I kept looking at the clock thinking "how long is this damn movie and is it going to start making sense soon?" I felt cheated out of 3 hours of my life

<32 and feeling better than ever did in my 20's. I was sedentary for almost the entire decade. 30's ROCKS!

When I started this journey almost 11 months ago it was to lose weight. For the first 6 months I was afraid to get rid of the "fat" clothes or buy new workout clothes or new and smaller anything for fear that I would quit, gain the weight back, and have spent a bunch of money on smaller stuff. I wouldn't even buy a new…

Awesome non-scale victory!!! Congratulations! I know how it feels to exercise some self-control and feel completely empowered. GREAT JOB!!!

Banana?

YES!!! It was so weird it was almost good.

I feel like this every time I watch Napoleon Dynamite. Yes, I said "every time"...it's one of those movies that, to me, is like a train wreck that I HAVE to watch. I can't look away no matter how many other things I have to do, I have to watch the rest of it. Maybe it's a conspiracy and there are subliminal messages that…
