Protein shakes are a quick and easy way to get more protein in. In and of themselves they will not cause muscle mass to build. I like to make mine into a smoothie with frozen berries.

Well, I've had 5 c-sections, and that's enough surgery for me. So the lap band is out. I've been doing HCG drops. I'm on my 4th round since January 10. I'm down 73 lbs so far. Do I get a little tired of the food during the 3 weeks of VLCD? Yes, but I can get through it. The loss really makes up for that. I'm glad I did it.

What everybody else said - you need to plan a snack for 8 pm. Whether you take calories out of dinner or out of earlier in the day, you need it so you need to plan for it.

Pure maple syrup does not have HFCS. Maple pancake syrup often does. I like the idea of adding a little water to the maple syrup. I'd try it and see if it works.

I've never bought bean vermicelli noodles. How many servings does the package say it contains?

Wow, you look terrific! I've gone from morbidly obese (255.8) to just plain obese (185). I know what you mean about it taking time. But we can do this!

I walk at lunch - 35 minutes. I keep a change of clothes to walk in. I walk, eat lunch, then I've cooled off and change back into my work clothes.

I was on WW and got a salad from Chili's - I don't rmember which one, but it sounded pretty safe. Nope! it was 20 points. Most of my day's worth. I definitely pre-plan now.

A green salad would be nice. Lettuce, tomatos, some pepitas and a green salsa dressing with cilantro.

I'm on my 4th round of the hcg drops now. I'm down 68 lbs since January 10. Even if the drops don't do anything and I'm experiencing a placebo affect, I do not care - it's working for me. In between rounds of the drops I use MFP to count calories - I do the maintenance calories and then switch over to 1200 calories a day.

I count to 4 over and over and over. For some reason it helps me.

Do you mean shins? Like the fronts of your lower leg? If so, make sure you have good supportive shoes. Ice your shins after you jog or run. Take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. Running or jogging on asphalt or even better dirt, is preferable to concrete.

I like to steam fresh green beans, then heat a tiny bit of olive oil in a skillet, put in the beans and toss on a couple of tablespoons of grated parmesan, stirring until the parmesan is golden brown.

I have my husband or children taste it for me. They know what's good.

I usually eat Yoplait light yogurt, but I really love Brown Cow cream on top yogurt. I'll have to try Greek yogurt.

The acid in the OJ, and the simple sugar in the juice and cereal, might have been too much for your system. Once they were gone you felt better.

I love a piece of toasted whole grain bread with lowfat cotttage cheese, a sliced tomato and some dill weed, salt and pepper.

1 c frozen mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries and raspberries is what I use) 1 scoop vanilla creme natural whey powder 6 oz water It's delicious and the berries are so good for you.

I drank Diet Coke for years and never thought anything wrong with it. I quit last December due to cost - my husband's out of work. Recently I read that women who drink diet sodas have larger waist measurements than those who don't, and I thought wow!
