  • I recently bought a BodyMedia Fit Core, to see what I really was burning throughout the day. I had been eating 1200-1500 depending on exercise since I started on here(July 2011) and did see great results up until December. Turns out that I am burning on average 2300 calories on REST days. As I got closer to my goal weight,…
  • Glad you're feeling better, and things are starting to fall into place! On the rest day front: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/behar2.htm I noticed that my weight loss slowed down when I was running 6 to 7 days a week. Even 5 days of running, 4-8 miles a day, was too much. Before I really got into running, I was doing HIIT…
  • You're so close to your goal weight that things will start to slow down. I am around 10lbs from my goal and am not really weighing myself very often, maybe once every three weeks? I am however taking my measurements regularly. Maybe your weight isn't changing much but your body is getting smaller? Muscle takes up less…
  • Iceandfire212; Make a list, with room to record your scores under earch exercise. Search google for "free tabata timer" and use that if you don't have a gymboss. I like Z's older workouts, and now follow her ZWOW workouts on Facebook and Youtube. Not into the new, somewhat complicated, all kinds of equipment, Bodyrock...
  • 95% of it for me is mental. Some days I just can't get out of my head; This sucks, it's hard, you can stop, you're so slow, you can't do it.....I NEVER thought I would be able to run, I knew that if I put the work in, the cardio would come, but I didn't think I had the mental stregnth to actually commit to doing it enough…
  • Thanks, even though these can be proven as "fakes" it is a good reminder to be extra cautious, like Beastette was/is. There are so many people who are always on the look out to prey upon others. The old saying is true "I would rather be safe than sorry"
  • I love to mix it up with a dash of Ideal sweetener and a couple of pinches of cinnamon. For all those who dislike it, how thick/thin are you mixing it? I made some too thin by mistake, I usually just eyeball the amount of water, and it was FOUL, just horrid. So, mix it up super super dry/thick if you haven't been.
  • I read somewhere it has to do with increased blood circulation, and that if you stick with it it will go away. If you take a break from cardio, days weeks? I dunno. Then it comes back. I've had it in the past, not really anymore though. You can also get the skin tingling itchy-ness if you take a larger dose of Niacin...
  • It's really liberating to not weigh yourself every week. Maybe try to weigh yourself once a month, MEASURE yourself every week, and keep a pair of too small jeans on hand to try on once and awhile. Scales can really fvck with your head.
  • I live in between the two. I'm Vegan so my recommendations are places that I go that offer food I would eat... Like everyone says "everything in moderation' but I can recommend the "health" food stores in Santa Cruz as great places to grab a bite to eat, New Leaf (there are three in SC) Staff Of LIfe on Soquel Ave; all…
  • Pretty much the same here, 129. Although I would love to have lost weight, I am so SOOOOO happy I didn't gain. My eating has been out of control; a handful of cereal here, a bite of banana and PB there. Not so much the amounts, but the lack of CONTROL is what's been disconcerting. I still adore this method, and I feel much…
  • Just passing along what I read in my research this a.m, since I had the same question :) It would be a bummer to end up over eating since the estimate was off.
  • Hey I just read about this this morning: "A HRM won't give you an accurate idea of how many calories you burn during strength training, because the relationship between heart rate and calorie expenditure is not the same during strength training as during cardio exercise, which is what the HRM's estimate is based on. Unless…
  • Fruit. I was shocked at how many calories are in one average sized banana.... Also surprised when I started to weigh my food versus measuring cups/spoons. Cereal, peanut butter, dates... All suprisingly little amounts of food for their calorie counts. Oh yeah, rice and quinoa! SO calorie dense!
  • I like to sub portabello mushrooms or big zucchini slices for the bread, I love the bread but sometimes I don't have enough calories left to "spend" on that.
  • There are lots of different colored tomatoes, and many varietys of each, usually the "black" ones are actually called purple. I love most black tomatoes, Black Krim being a favorite; They have a rich, smokey flavor. I prefer a more acidic tomatoe than sweet. If you can get ahold of a Black Krim, or Paul Robeson those are…
  • Doesn't really embarrass me, (takes a lot and this ain't it) but I would hesitate to shout it from the roof tops... The Bad Girls Club
  • Just here to mark the thread so I can reference it later :)
  • Do it!!! Modify the moves and take as many breaks as you need to. If you stick with it, it will be an amazing way to SEE and FEEL your fitness level increasing. You will have something to measure against, from day one, where maybe you couldn't do all the jumping jacks, to day 30 where you can. Or something like that :)
  • Between 5'3 and 5'4 depending on who measures me, my goal is 118. I'm not stuck on a number, more on a "look" and I've seen other ladies at my height and that weight and I like how they look. So that is a tentative goal. Currently 129, down from 162.
  • I didn't go over your numbers, but just set your calories to your maintenance number. Eat at least until the TOTALS number says your BMR number. The green REMAINING number will reflect your deficit. If that GREEN number is over 1,000 then you need to eat until it drops to 1,000 or less.
  • 1/11/12 was 131.4 Today 1/25/12 129.2.
  • Treadmill, haaaaaave to have music. Outside;NEVER. One, I don't like it. Two, it's too dangerous. I think people take their safety too lightly, there are a lot of people looking to prey on someone, I just try to give my self one more layer of safety by being able to hear what's going on around me. That is if I'm not…
  • I love Pinterest! I was cleaning house today and came across a bunch of pages ripped out of magazines, so uninspiring compared to my virtual pinboard. I have a healthy Fitspo board, you can find me by searching people, user name: christineinca
  • Having looked at about a weeks worth of meals, I would say you are not getting a lot of "bang for your buck" in that you have VERY few foods listed yet are meeting your 1200 calorie goal. I don't think you are eating enough calories for your lifestyle, but even IF you were of small enough stature that you would only eat…
  • Buy, they are not expensive AT ALL, a good digital scale, measure your food. Eat less processed food, you'll get to eat more, have an apple and some peanut butter, some good toast with avocado...A smoothie. Maybe try eating your exercise calories, or at least half of them. Drink a TON of water. Eat healthy fats. Maybe buy…
  • I've tried a few and am currently drinking genuine health vegan protein: http://shop.genuinehealth.com/vegan-proteins-7.html I mix it with unsweetend almond milk, total calories for one serving: 165 I have the double chocolate one, and I like it. Although it is sweetend with stevia which I am not partial to, but it's…
  • That is an INSANE transformation!! Just amazing! After carrying all that weight I bet there are some big muscles under there, actually you can see them already :)
  • FYI if you get one at Bed Bath & Beyond, they take expired coupons. You can usually find coupons in most household/design type magazines, they are usually for 20% off.
  • I have the same "problem" ; usually my clothes are still damp/wet and wicking heat away. I usually take a shower, but drinking hot tea always works wonders. If hot tea will warm me up after being in the 52 degree ocean for three hours then it'll work after I run :) Curious to hear what others have to say, as I am too lazy…
