I'm with you!! I'd love to see the Cardinals win tonight. Yay for Game 7 :drinker:

we've been happy with our EatSmart Precision Pro digital kitchen scale: $25 on Amazon. Had it about 3 months, so it's proven itself to be fairly sturdy. You can weigh either in ounces or grams, and it has an easy-to-use feature to zero out the weight of the container or plate you will place the food on for weighing. (I…

guess you'd have to cut and paste that link, but really, delicious, commonsense snack ideas.

a clear soup as a starter for dinner is a clever tip I read! Our bodies, oddly, don't turn on the "I'm full" switch right away when we eat. Having a clear soup (vegetable soup, chicken soup, just not cream-based--which would obviously be fatty and calorie-rich) fills you and gives more time for your body to realize, "Hey,…

i searched for banks1850 in the Forums and it appears his username is now SHBoss1673 -- who he is, i dunno. His SHBoss1673 profile looks like a regular guy.

if it's that you are having trouble limiting what you eat each day, use the Diary as your guiding light. It helps you tally how you are doing as the day goes on (tally against your daily calorie goal). Also, if you really use it (and keep it set on Public so your MFP friends can see it) you will find that you don't WANT to…

Thanks so much, you guys! One of the messages I'm getting here is that my $19.99 running shoes are probably not cutting it -- I will go to an athletic store and spend the money for proper shoes. I am taking into account the information you provided and will research further/act accordingly, in that I don't want this to…

This is JUST a thought (for the poster and the one above who says she's been trying for months with no weight loss), and it may not even be correct. It is important to measure and weigh your food intake, whenever possible. Once you are pretty experienced with knowing what a serving size or weight is, you may be able to…

OH!!!!!! What a great post!! Congratulations!!! That is a big milestone. You have obviously worked very hard on having a steady, healthy weight loss, and I'm sure you will keep going. Enjoy this moment: you deserve it!!! :flowerforyou:

Try not to be too worried about the surgery. I've had a hernia repair (umbilical) and certain other surgeries and I'm sure they'll be taking very good care of you. It will be too bad to interrupt your exercising. The one thing I'd say we'll all agree on, is take it easy until you are cleared for various exercises/lifting,…

would you tell us a little about how you've done this?

Kirsty!!!!!!! omg, you are one hotty!!!! Those are FANTASTIC before and after photos!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, that must have been really some hard work and dedication and it is really paying off. Best wishes.:flowerforyou:

I was Pescetarian for a long time and love it -- giving up beef and pork just feels right to me too. I did eventually end up adding poultry back in. Fish oils are so good for you! And of course fish is great protein. Shrimp is an UNBELIEVABLE protein, with almost not fat (depending how it's prepared), as I'm sure you…

I scrolled through a lot of these (some of them VERY amusing, btw) and was surprised that fewer people said what Mallory0418 said, which is what I was thinking. The only person I've had to delete so far was someone who was SO negative. She had only been on around 2 weeks and already was pouting about a bunch of b.s. We all…

Yes, a definite difference in your face and overall shape! I like it! Great job. Keep it up :flowerforyou:

All of your hard work is paying off!! You look fantastic! Keep it up!

YOU ARE DOING SO AMAZINGLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on all your hard work. It is paying off.:glasses:

Presumably your treadmill will show you a total of your calories burned during and/or after your workout. 10% incline is HUGE. You probably want to start with 3%. Even that gives a nice bump to your calorie burn during your time on the treadmill. I love my treadmill! Best wishes.

Try to be realistic about what you can do. You don't need to be PERFECT right out of the gate. For most of us, almost ANY attempt to eat a little less/eat a little healthier is better than what we were doing. Keep it simple, by making a conscious effort to cut out soda, candy, chips. Those are NO NOs, except ONCE in awhile…

Good girl! You're getting in the groove.:flowerforyou:

I LOVE this story!! Great job, and great inspiration.

Have you tried low carb?
-
As for Lov3lif3, it seems as though many people had the same, great message of support for you. I'll give this to you as well: Go get 'em, Tiger.
-
Lacrolix, you are the BOMB. What a special person you are. Go get 'em, Tiger.

Optimum Nutrition double chocolate protein shake, yum. (Aoout $37 on Amazon, for 5 pounds)

i agree with the spaghetti squash idea (very easy, and truly delish with marinara) Roasted Brussel Sprouts are THE BEST!! Many easy-peasy recipes online :) It's almost like an entirely different vegetable.
-
i love the carrots and hummus idea (Sabra hummus, yum!!) Also, I treat myself to a Balance Bar about twice a week. Balance Bar is no good if you are doing low carb, but for us "balanced calories" folks, it's got nice protein and vitamins and is a little bit of a sweet treat, all for 200 calories (some of the flavors maybe…
-
if you can spare the calories (200-210), I treat myself to a Balance Bar a couple times a week :) (nice protein and hey we do need SOME carbs!) (these bars are not gonna work for you if you are doing low-carb)
-
I am going to just say one thing: WOW you are beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job. (oh ok, 2 things: seems to me you could keep going toward that 170, if that's your goal. You came this far!)

i'm taking the Womens One A Day -- better to take something than nothing at all! We all definitely need to supplement because of the calorie-restricted diets we're on. Best wishes!
