I love mixed nuts but I know they are fattening.....is there a "healthy" nut out there or what are some healthy snack ideas?
Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with fat in nuts. It's all good fat that your body can actually use to function off of.0

Nuts are very good for you they are high in good fats and protein and they keep you full I follow a lean eating type diet which encourages nuts that arent covered in salts or sugars0

I get almond butter and spread it over a Quaker plain rice cake.0

I eat almonds, grapes, applesauce, or an avocado for snacks. Avo's are high in calories, but a healthy fat, so I indulge when I feel I can.0

i love the carrots and hummus idea (Sabra hummus, yum!!)
Also, I treat myself to a Balance Bar about twice a week. Balance Bar is no good if you are doing low carb, but for us "balanced calories" folks, it's got nice protein and vitamins and is a little bit of a sweet treat, all for 200 calories (some of the flavors maybe 210?).0 -

Carrots and hummus are definitely one of my favs too! Also...I love plain rice cakes (for some reason) and they're only 30 calories each. 2 keep me full enough to pass a few hours. Especially with a banana.0

nuts are good for you, moderation. the others are right, the fats in nuts are the kind you want. moderation. I love to take blueberries and fat free cheese sticks! Any kind of dark berry. Also low fat natural peanut butter on 1/2 a granny smith apple. YUM! Fiber in the apple and protien in the pb to help you feel full longer.
Here's to you!0 -
I'm a big fan of almonds. But they can be expensive... my favorite snacks are yogurt, pretzels, and hard boiled-eggs. Bananas are a great hunger killer too I find.0

Fiber one bars are like low calorie desserts that fill me up for hours0
