  • Wow, who knew I was re-opening such a heated topic! Thanks I wil defer everyone to the What's What post and I am NOT going to obsess over my sugar too much .
  • One thing no one has mentioned... This is how I got P90X, my sister in law bought it and because she could NOT meet the minimum fitness test she sent it to me. This is NOT for beginners or people who are not at a pretty decent level of fitness already. I think there are lots of other programs that are better suited for…
  • I like the gym as well so I do a little of each. I have been doing p90X for awhile now, so I am comfortable with the routine, so I take a couple of the workouts into the gym with me. You get a guide sheet that steps you through each move and a log so I just made a copy of my logsheet and I take it to the gym with me.…
  • Polar is a good brand. I like my F4. The prices vary if you shop around. The F6 is actually better because it has a coded signal on transmitter so you won't pick up another nearby HRM.
  • Congrats I am 141 and keep bouncing back and forth and it's maddening!! it's seems like it should be so easy so I know how happy you must be!
  • One of the things I am learning is that a little resistance training is also good. I always used to focus on cardio, cardio, cardio But lean muscle burns calories even while at rest while fat just rides along for free. If you do a little of both you are losing fat and gaining muscle a great combo. Your still young, but as…
  • Last year when I was working out with a trainer, his thought process was I needed to eat something every 2 - 3 hours. But keep it healthy. So if you have calories for the day to spare AND it's been a couple/several hours since you have eaten, then the apple or a little something is probably a good idea. Going long periods…
  • I am on week four of P90X and loving it. I set each one of mine up under my personal exercise database.- make sure to set it as cardio or you can't count the calories. I have Heart Rate monitor and I have been surprised to see how much my calorie burn for the same exercise set differs week to week. If you want to be a…

  • I am on week 4 of P90X Lean and I have lost about an inch everywhere I have measured. I was already pretty consistent about working out, I just never pushed myself much, did the same ol things when at the gym. My biggest difference I noticed was the muffin top in my jeans (or lack there of). I was very excited and…
  • I grew up in SW Iowa, I now live in Marin County in Northern CA which is smack in the middle between San Francisco and Napa/Sonoma, It is the most spectacular place if you love the outdoors, culture and fabulous food and wine. The beauty of Mt Tamalpais and the bay never cease to amaze me. Even after 15 years. Many large…
  • My Mom & sister got hypnotized and it worked great for them. My Dad quit cold T. after his throat cancer surgery, according to Dr.s no question the nicotine was the cause The last year of his life he got to enjoy his meals by pouring them into the tube into his stomach. great weight loss program though, he got down to…
  • Good point, I also have a HRM. don't think there is any sort of "default" calories you can assume you burn per workout. For instance the last two times I did core synergy I burned different # of cals each time as I assume I am working harder . I burned like 374 last time but I am much older than you so will be very…
  • I am doing P90X as well, and I created all as activities in my exercise database. I put them all under cardio because it does not let you record calories for strength. I also found a very cool .xls document in google documents that my husband is using to track his. I am doing lean and the .XLS doc is for classic.
