For home I would choose the treadmill. Much more versatile and it trains you in what you do every day walk or run.. Unless you plan to ride a bike a lot then it would be best to train on a bike.

I believe you should do something every day. 4 of those cardio work outs should be at a higher intensity pushing the envelope so to speak. The idea is to not only work out but also to get into the habit of working out. Good luck

Yes the MFP is just a best guess most likely and average. you HRM will give you the best results. Some of the cardio machines in the gym will also give a different count sometimes. Just depends how the machine figures it. when you report you exercise you can change the Calories burnt.

TheMaid is correct. If you filled your info in (BMR, weight, age activity level) correctly and set your weight loss per week, MFP will set your caloric intake at a deficit. My BMR is 1946 Kcal my calories are 1200 Kcal so a deficit of 746 Kcal. I normally burn 600-800 Kcal in cardio if I did not eat at least some of them…

If your talking about cardio then you really can't go wrong with starting with the tread mill. The real secret is to do something every day. I would suggest 30 minutes on the tread mill and 15 minutes on any other machine in the gym this way you will start to learn the advantages and dis-advantages of the other machines

I used South Beach to get started dieting. What it did for me is eliminate simple sugars and BAD breads which was huge for me. Since then I try and eat as much or more protein Kcal as carbs. I also eat at least 25-30g of fiber a day which is the trick for me.

I first would give her a chance maybe couple sessions, have her write a resistence training plan for you maybe a 30 day cycle. Then make your decision. This is about what you need in a trainer and your results you can be a little selfish. Also if she is a good trainer she will adapt to your desire.

I do not believe this to be true. The only way spicy foods helps me loose weight faster is they make me run, like to the bathroom. I know that's TMI. Seriously just does not sound right to me
