*Garden turkey burgers*
1 cup old fashion oats
3/4 c. chopped onions
3/4 c. finely chopped sweet red or green pepper
1/2 c. shredded zucchini
1/4 c. ketchup
2 garlic gloves, minced ( or u can just use minced from the jar)
1/4 tsp salt ( I have made them w/o if u r watching sodium)
1 pound ground turkey
6 whole wheat hamburger buns , split and toast
Coat grill rack with some nonstick cooking spray before starting the grill ( u could broil these as well)
in a bowl combine the 1st seven ingredients . crumble your turkey over the mixture and mix well. Shape into six
1/2 inch thick patties.
Grill covered over indirect medium heat for approx 6 mins on each side or until meat temp is 165 degrees.
Then serve.
yield: 6 servings
( this could also make great turkey meatballs )
