  • My husband brings me a cuppa and a piece of dark chocolate and tells me how many grams it is.
  • Maybe once a month when PMT kicks in but I'll still log it all.
  • I spend Christmas Day with just my husband so I don't tend to make a huge dinner but we'll have Christmas pudding too. I love baking but I tend to gift quite a lot of my mince pies and gingerbread etc. to family and friends so I don't eat them all. Not making Christmas cake this year as my Christmas pudding is just too…
  • Congratulations on your loss so far. When I get angry I tell myself that I am only in control of my thoughts and actions. I can't control other people be they lovely or complete idiots. You have the choice of how you react to these people, and hopefully her comments will help give you the determination to continue looking…
  • Firstly, hope your recovery has gone well and congratulations on your weight loss. People will judge one another all the time, I wouldn't take notice of it and just concentrate on you and your thoughts and actions. You've also been out of the office for a long time so you're probably being seen as an outsider. I get this…
  • Lunches out are fairly easy to manage if you go for something fairly light on the menu. I'm afraid willpower is your friend for office food. I'm a big planner. I plan my meals for the week and buy only what I need at the supermarket. I pre log my food most days so I know where I can fit anything extra in, or not. Are you…
  • One of my goals is to be able to get back into pair of trousers I own. My bum use to look so good in them. Last time I tried them on I couldn't get them past my thighs! Soon... I want a stronger, flexible body. Weight is just one reference. How many push ups I can do until I collapse is another.
  • Not really but then I'm a bit of a loner. It does change the dynamics of some relationships though. I don't take complements well so I find it awkward when people say anything nice to me, including weight loss. I also find if I'm eating a salad I get "oh you're so healthy" when they pick an unhealthy option and if I'm…
  • Things I like I don't fully avoid much just cut back heavily on things like mayonnaise, alcohol and cake/biscuits. I avoid soda, juices, smoothies as I can't stand drinking them. I don't get the juice/smoothie craze, I'd rather eat it in its original form.
  • I've cut down on alcohol a lot and I feel it's helped me lose weight so far. I still have the odd half a cider or wine but I make it fit and have it on special occasions or when I really want/will enjoy one. It was hard to come home from a stressful day and not pour a glass of wine but exercise has filled that gap now. I…
  • It's easier said than done because it mentally requires a lot of work to make the changes. I'm an emotional eater I've been tired and worked up the last few days and it's really difficult to stick to my guns and not pig out. I also love food and love cooking. Some people hate to cook when they get home from work but I love…
  • Words are powerful. I can still remember being about 8 years old and a so called friend telling me to go away and that nobody likes me. I'm 32 now and it still haunts me! It crushed my means of making friendships through most of school. Learn that you can only be in charge of your thoughts and your actions. Don't…
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner for me and usually an evening snack if I can budget it in. I've weened myself off daytime snacking.
  • I hate waste. I hate finding a load of food in the fridge gone rotten too. This is why I meal plan so I never waste food. I will pre-plan my meals for the week so I only buy what I need. Leftovers or half used ingredients go into other meals that week or I'll do a large meal that can last me 2-3 days or go in the freezer…
  • Fennel is apparently a natural appetite suppressant. I think I read the Roman army use to eat the seeds during long marches. I don't know if it's just a placebo but I find it does curb hunger pangs for me.

  • I love telling friends and family the calorie content of things, especially stuff like that massive spoon of mayo they have just scooped out. Then I have to tell them that it's actually waaaay more than a tablespoon. They only thing you can control is your thoughts and actions. It makes things easier when you realise that.
  • I think it's a good distraction if you're not a huge fan of running. I'm not a fan of zombie movies/TVs shows either but the combination of exercise and zombies chasing you in a fitness app is rather fun. The storyline seems good and I think it helps push you to do the next episode/run.
  • Fit it into your calories if you enjoy it. I've switched from drinking less wine but better quality and saving it for special occasions or when I really want some. Here I mean when I would really enjoy a glass of wine rather than pouring a big glass of wine after a bad day.
  • I've suffered from SAD in the past so I always go into winter with some trepidation and try and work on a plan of action to combat it. I'm in the UK so the weather isn't too cold so I'll run when I can outside and fit it into daylight hours. Otherwise it's gym or pool inside to boost my mood. Food won't change too much,…
  • Can you swap out a few of your gym sessions so you can both do something together? It can be an activity so you're still burning calories. I do a lot of walks or hiking with my husband. It sounds like you're both eating your own meals. Can you or your boyfriend cook for the both of you and enjoy a shared meal together?…
  • I'll try and fit it into my calories. I find exercise helps too as my mood is very irritable and moody and the exercise helps cheer me up and I also find it helps with the period pains. I hate exercising when I have my period but generally feel better for doing it.
  • I'll have a small portion that fits in my calories or I'll have some fruit. Try to understand why you're craving it. Last time I craved something sweet I was away on business and had had a bad night sleep. A walk, some water and a small pot of fruit helped.
  • You can just say sorry I have other plans for tonight and not go. If you do just don't drink and opt for a light meal. I was away on business and had to go out for a business meeting/dinner to a place famous for their big roasts. I opted for a light vegetarian meal and I got a bit of stick from my bosses for that.
  • I love bread. I buy mine from my local bakery or I make my own. Mmmm sandwiches, toast, garlic bread, croutons, bacon butties!

  • The proper stuff tastes better but I'm happy to eat both depending if I can fit it into my calories. I have to be mindful with nuts and nut butters and have to preweigh them or I will keep eating them.
  • As it's still warm I usually take a salad. At the moment it's an avocado, tuna or chicken with rocket and tomatoes. When the weather turn colder I'll probably switch to soups. I sometimes make overnight oats for lunch and today I had cottage cheese pancakes I made the night before warmed up and they work sweet or savoury.
  • Wow. Congratulations. That's a lot of effort put in and amazing results both physically and mentally. You must be proud. An inspiration to many.
  • I'm not a vegetarian but I eat a lot of Quorn products mainly because it's a lot less faff for cooking. I buy it, shove it in the freezer and can cook it from frozen. Got a Quorn shepherds pie for dinner tonight.
  • The UK is rubbish for pumpkin as it's in the supermarkets for the week or two running up to Halloween and then they're never to be seen of again. Saying that I've never found a pumpkin that tasted good (grown and shop brought). My sister makes a mean pumpkin and chilli soup but it only tastes of chillies.
