How do you break down your family meals? Breakfast....Dinner?

Mine are:
Breakfast
Mid-Morning Snack
Lunch
Mid-Afternoon Snack
Dinner
Evening Snack

I eat often because it keeps me from binging, so this helps.
Any other ideas work better?
What do you have?
Anything more fun I could do?

The only "family" meal we have is dinner and, occasionally, breakfast. Everyone is on his or her own for the rest.

I have a bizarro work schedule right now. I cook basic things when I have the time, like a roast and veggies and stick them in the fridge. We can either eat some of that, or make a sandwich or salad, or whatever... There are a lot of omelettes going on lately. There's just me and the hubby so no worries about feeding kids. The cats are fed morning and evening.

my breakdown looks like yours. But I use it more as a time thing. Like if I log something in the breakfast category, it's because I ate it before 10 am or so. 10am-12pm is morning snack region. 12-2pm is the lunch region. 2-5pm is the pm snack zone (though this might be when I actually eat a lunch-like meal). Dinner is 5-7pm and then anything eaten later than that would be evening snack. Though some nights I'm up late and there's actually 2 meals logged in the evening snack category. It just means I ate all that food after 7 pm that day.

why did I say family in my question? was watching tv, oops.
    just meant meals.
is meant a word? or is it meaned?
"Meant" is the way to go.

On non-lifting days, I have breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and dessert. On lifting days, I have breakfast, pre-workout, post-workout, dinner, and dessert.

Are you asking how we eat or how we put things in our diary?
I tend to eat every 3-5 hours because that is when I get hungry. I have breakfast, lunch, maybe a snack in the late afternoon, dinner, evening snack.
In my food diary, I just list any snacks all together under "snacks".

I think you should do what works best for you and your lifestyle.

what you meant (and yes, MEANT is the word, meaned is not a word at all) is.. how is your diary set up?

    breakfast
    lunch
    dinner
    misc

misc catches anything not in one of the 3 meals. so... snacks, beers, random bites, whatever.

everyone does it different. find what works best for you. there is no 'right' way.

This is what has been working for me:

    Coffee (with milk for protein)
    Late morning breakfast
    early lunch
    late afternoon snack
    dinner
    evening snack...fruit or chocolate

If I don't feel great in the mornings I will eat a little something too...like right now, think I need something to eat.

This is a highly personal decision and depends on your lifestyle, family situation, and preferences.

For me I do the opposite of many small meals. I like to look forward to a large snack at day's end:

    Breakfast (100-200 kcal)
    Lunch (300-500 kcal)
    Family dinner (400-800 kcal)
    Evening snack (900-1500 kcal)
Total is usually about 2300-2500 kcal

    Lunch (~11am, 500-800 kcal), Dinner (~5:30pm, 500-800kcal), Snack (~8:30pm, 100-400kcal).

On occassion I'll eat breakfast, or have a morning or afternoon snack (so I have all those things in my diary), but those are my 3 main eating times. For the past few weeks I've been eating right around 2000 calories/day, which would be on the high side of all of those, but the reality is I've been having morning or afternoon snacks.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner for me and usually an evening snack if I can budget it in. I've weened myself off daytime snacking.

Depends on my workout schedule. If I don't go to the gym in the morning, I sometimes just skip breakfast. I also sometimes have two lunches, depending on if I've had breakfast, and how big my lunch was.

    Pre-gym fruit
    Post gym breakfast
    Snack
    Lunch
    Small treat after work
    Supper
Snacks, or alcohol to fill the remaining calorie goal.
