Thanks everyone for your advice. I'll try a new scale that I can "0" -- mine doesn't seem to have that option. And of course I should weigh myself less frequently -- it's just hard not to beg the scale to give me some encouragement (stupid thing rarely complies anyway).

Thanks for the suggestions. I do have two small kids and part of the problem is that I am ALWAYS IN THE KITCHEN making food for them, surrounded by food! I've heard that eating many small meals is better than fasting and binging on a big dinner, but I'm worried that I won't have the discipline to keep all those meals…

I can relate more than I can help -- my good intentions for the day seem to melt away after dinner. One thing I've found that does help sometimes is brushing my teeth right after dinner: once my teeth are brushed, no more food. Doesn't always work, but it often does...
