  • You look great! You should be so proud of your results!!
  • Not quite 4'11... HW - 225 CW - 194 GW - ?? not sure...whenever i feel good in my skin I lost 50+ pounds a few years back by eating about 1500 calories a day and exercising waaaaay too much. I wasn't tracking calories then but I'm sure I was NETTING negative most days. I finally got thyroid regulated, did a metabolism…
  • I've seen that one; it's really cool but it says my total energy expenditure is 2339 and my BMR is 1328. I'm eating between 1400 and 1500 calories a day, have been for over a year, and have gained over 25 lbs...most of it fat. Clearly I'm doing something wrong. You may be eating too little - too much of a deficit. I lost a…
  • This Plus the first hour was just showing you how cool the special effects were....got annoying after the first 15 mins
  • I eat that dark chocolate peanut butter out of the jar - yummy!!
  • Eat the oreos!! Just stay within your calories for the day.
  • I agree with others that say he is eating at a deficit. Keep in mind, you can still eat ANYTHING as long as you are in a caloric deficit. You don't have to just eat grilled chicken and veggies to lose weight. Also, as women, we tend to lower our calories too low as most magazines/nutritionists/experts suggest. I'm learning…
  • Awesome job on finishing! Congratulations!! I did my first 5K Mud Run yesterday as well :) My team was 1 women over 50, 1 in her 40's and one in her early 30's and myself and I turned 40 this year. We did the same - we all waited for each other at each obstacle and tried to help as much as possible. I had a very hard time…
  • Dear 16 year old me: McDonald's for breakfast and dinner is not a good thing Ice cream after McDonald's is even worse The food you eat is what is causing you to gain weight Just because mom puts butter on everything doesn't mean you need to as well Eat more fruits and veggies - they are good for you Don't skip gym class -…
  • I think you may have been undereating for a long time and slowed your metabolism way down. I did that and I'm now realizing I need to eat more to keep my metabolism running and I've lost 5 pounds in the last few weeks. Before deciding on the surgery, really take a look at how much/what you are eating and how you are…
  • Agreed with the previous posters. Plus, you've slowed down your metabolism and will make it easier to gain a lot of weight really fast eating normal again. You will need to slowly add calories until you get a "normal" caloric intake, and you will probably gain a few pounds in the process. But I'm sure it won't be close to…
  • Agree - peanut butter and nuts is awesome and kind of a treat. I also have been buying reduced fat yogurt versus fat free kind.
  • I don't believe this. I have a gluten intolerance, not celiac disease, and this doesn't bother me. I eat healthy whole foods most of the time - eggs, dairy, fruit, veggies, potatoes, rice, meat, poultry, etc. Trader Joe's has lower priced gluten free pasta, mac n cheese and breads. I don't eat a lot of that. Hope that…
  • Wish I knew this 7 years ago when I lost a ton of weight...only to gain it back. Ate too little for my activity level.
  • I tried one of those boots you wear overnight and that didn't work. Actually made it worse. I had it in both feet. Also had cortisone injections in both feet and didn't help. I paid for custom orthotics and I couldn't wear them they were just too hard and uncomfortable. It took several months but one morning I woke up and…
  • I am gluten intolerant. Since I gave up it my migraines are gone and my sluggish, no energy feeling is gone as is the excess gas and bloating. I eat mostly natural foods - fruits, veggies, dairy, meat/eggs/poultry, and rice and potatoes.
  • And...I know I ruined my metabolism when I was working out like crazy (10+ hours a week) and eating too little. So yes, I gained weight back because of MY METABOLISM. And I also have been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid...hmmm....
  • Amazing results! Congrats! Can't wait to see the next pics.
  • This. I did the same - was doing Insanity for about 5 weeks until an injury with nearly no weight loss. I was eating probably 1500-1600 calories a day and burned my guess at least 500 calories per workout. That would net me 1000-1100 per day. Realizing now that is far too little - slows down your metabolism.
  • I netted way less than 1200 calories for several years. I lost a ton of weight at first and when I couldn't keep up with my crazy exercise schedule all of the weight came back on. I tried again and again - all these diet books, even nutritionists I went to see put me on 1200-1500 calories a day without even considering my…
  • also another thing to keep in mind is that if you have been undereating for a long time, generally it takes a while for your body to catch back up.
  • Set reasonable expectations. Don't expect to lose 10 pounds a week. Think of it as a lifestyle change and enjoy all the little changes you are going through. For me, my health is very important. I know if I eat healthy and exercise its better for my overall health even if the scale doesn't move much. Good luck!
  • It depends. For me, that is too much of a deficit. I worked out my TDEE - 20% and that is what I'm eating right now. So its about a 500 calorie deficit. I eat treats and don't feel deprived. You also have to be careful not to eat too few calories as it will slow down your metabolism. Happened to me and it took me a long…
  • His ticker says he has lost 191 pounds - this guy knows what he's talking about. Just sayin'
  • Agreed!! This makes no sense to me.
  • I exercised too much and ate too little for a very long time...lost a ton of weight and gained it all back once I couldn't keep up my exercise routine. My body started to hold onto every bit of food I gave it and I ruined my metabolism. I would suggest making a modest reduction in calorie intake to help you keep it off…
  • i almost exclusively eat gala.
  • I try to give myself a buffer during the week - leave and extra 100-200 calories a day I don't eat so I can add those in on the weekend. Plus I keep active on the weekend giving myself those extra calories to eat. I try to be very cognizant of what I eat - I may eat a piece of pizza or 2, just not the whole pie. Hope that…
