But surely even if it did list increased appetite rather than weight gain that would still be relevant? As I stated earlier, if it was so easy for everyone to ignore a feeling of hunger (whether real or fake isn't the point) none of us would need things like MFP. I think all anyone is trying to say is that the implant and…

Some people completely miss the point on these discussions. Don't know why we bother

I'm not an expert, I'm just speaking from my personal experience. I tried everything for about 18 months. Ate at a consistent deficit, exercised (I run a lot) etc and would just lost and gain the same pound again and again. Even if I low carbed or crash dieted I couldn't get the usual big drop people normally get from the…

I lost 8 lbs after having mine out and went on to lost a stone more. I believe it was stopping me from losing (rather than making me gain, if that makes sense?) It definitely made a difference. Since then I've gone on a pill that seems to suit me...no weight gain at all.

Yeah I've been lifting the bar plus 1.25kg on each side for chest pressing. Am on bar plus 10kg for deadlifts so I think I'm doing OK by the look of it!

Thanks, that makes far more sense now! I knew I wasn't exactly lifting heavy but didn't think I was that much of a weakling lol!

Fish tandoori with daal for a side is normally my go to. It I'm with a group I'll normally treat myself to a little naan too. I avoid rice, but I find its like Pringles for me...once I start I can't stop! That could be just me!

Had mine removed in October and lost 7lbs within a week. I had been trying to lose for years and only ever managed a pound or two. Having it removed definitely helped. I've then gone on to lose a further 13lbs. I genuinely don't think that would have been possible with the implant!

Hey there, I'm also training for my first marathon. It's in April and up to now I've only ever done 2 half maras (the last of which was over a year ago) so I agree, 11 miles is a lot for some of us! My strategy is to plug away at it, doing 1 big run per week at the minute where I'm up to about 8 miles. Think I need to step…

I can't explain why but I had been struggling to lose any weight with implanting (not so much that I gained any, just couldn't shift it) Had it removed on 1st October and have lost 7 pounds. I haven't changed my diet or exercise routine so....what's that about? I'm no doctor but I think it has to be something to do with…

Hey there, i started doing MFP months ago and barely shifted a pound even though i was always within calories, exercising, drinking water etc etc. I did an 'audit' on what diets have really worked for me over the years and the common denominator seems to be carbs. So i've started the south beach diet and in a week i've…

Hey all, I'm logging using MFP but following South Beach Diet (in second week now) SW 156 CW 150 GW 135 (?not sure as i can't remember the last time i weighed so little, maybe it will look to skinny! I've already gone down a dress size so i think i must just be really big boned...if i was to go down at the same rate of…

Excellent article...my workouts are about to change!!!

I'm pretty sure if you're exercising as much as you say, you won't retain too much water. I was a bit dubious about how much water is the 'right amount' for weight loss. I've started drinking more now and i'm finding it's actually helping, not hindering the weight loss. An added bonus is that it makes you feel fuller so…

Muscle gain??? or is working out more making you eat more???
